Subject: Full auto carbine

The Halo series has never had a full auto assault rifle that has a good range and is powerful to boot. It's hard to add new weapons to a prequel so why not change one?

Why it would be good to change:
1)people seem to prefer the battle rifle
2)battle rifle already takes up its use (Carbines and Battle rifles almost work exactly the same)
3)Add a new type of weapon to the series.

Why it would work:

1)It would become a power weapon
2)Would have nasty recoil
3)Less accurate due to being auto
4)Counteracted by long range weapons (every Halo weapon must have some way to be counteracted with)
5)Small clip (I believe it is 18 rounds)

Well that's an idea I have

Please feel free to comment, add some pros or cons or improve how exaclty the full auto carbine would work

thanks for your time

The goal of the carbine is to perserve ammo unlike its counterpart, it also annoys the hell out of you at least it does for me.

RIP Halo 2: November 9, 2004-May 10, 2010
I was the 2nd to last person to get kicked off Halo 2, see the thread Here

The gun would be too powerful though, even if it isnt accurate if each bullet is as powerful as it is on Halo 3, kills would be nearly instant on it.

You just got Shakespeared!

mabye have it like a 3 shot would kill if head and 5 shot for body.

But like I said it would be a power weapon, like only one of them in the middle or one on each side of the map.

full auto carbine = bad idea

like they said it'd be too powerful...if you want to have a weapon like that it would be best just to add a new variant between the assault rifle and battle rifle, and visa versa on the covenant weapons. Then it would add a whole new element into the gameplay.

It guess it is a bad idea, but there definetly needs to be a full auto weapon that is good!

"YOUR DESTRUCTION IS THE WILL OF THE GODS, AND WE ARE THEIR INSTRUMENT."

It's called the Spiker. Seriously, the Spiker's considered a carbine.

I know, I know but come on you know what I'm talking about

never heard that one but a possibility of a new weapon that i posted could be solved. Why not just make the Spiker none duel wieldable and more powerful like the needler? then you do have that varient of weapon if not close. That way they wouldn't have to make a new weapon.

On that not of Spikers, how will this work? That is a Brute weapon and Brutes (in the game, don't remember well in the books...been too long) weren't around until Halo 2.

bungie has proven that a bunch of monkeys sitting in front of keyboards can randomly type out a masterpiece. the thing is, when you go to play the masterpiece, you cant help but notice all the monkey s**t smeared all over it.

it gets real old having to wait months for someone like mlg to clean off all the monkey poo.

br and carbine are supposed to fulfill 2 different roles. the problem, is in h3 it doesnt.

br has the kills per clip, the total kills per ammo loadout, and accuracy.

the carbine has better killtime, but not significantly so, and even then only at close range where its low accuracy cant screw you. once again, the carbine is less accurate then the br. someone is going to dispute this, but screw them, its true.

hence, people run around with the br.

to balance them, the carbine needs to be better functionally then the br at something. my vote is give it the accuracy/damage boost which will make it useful in 1v1 scenarios, while the br's clip size and ammo loadout keep it the king in teamshooting and set up scenarios.

making a fully auto high recoil carbine is bad news. then the game becomes a bunch of people holding down the triggers on each other until someone wins when their crosshair jiggles onto the other's face first.

and how!

So basically, you want to take a powerful long range single shot precision weapon and turn it into a short range fully automatic useful in far less situations?

No.
