THIS TOPIC IS NOT ABOUT AUTO AIM

For those who aren't familiar with the term, aim acceleration was introduced to the Halo franchise with Halo 3 and makes it so you turn faster the longer you hold down the stick. It's very annoying because your turn/look starts out slow, and builds up speed, forcing the player to compensate for the constantly changing sensitivity.

Halo CE and Halo 2 didn't have aim acceleration, and they didn't need it. The only purpose it serves is to make aiming needlessly frustrating when other popular shooters, including past Halo games take the logical route with a constant turn/look speed. No aim acceleration makes the game less frustrating for everything, and with Halo: Reach getting a new engine, I am a strong supporter of it getting taken out.

Get Some!!

I agree. It is very frustrating at times. It was a bad idea to put it in the game in the first place. I also vote for either taking ut auto-aim, or at least reducing its effect.

console fps with no autoaim = unplayable.
why? go in a custom game and try to 4 shot your teamates with a br. or simply melee them. good luck.
could be possible on a pc. not on console.

True, it is unplayable without auto aim, unless the game has iron sights. Then it's very possible.
As the guy above me said, start up a custom game and try team-killing your teammates. The fights easily take 3-4 times as long because the bullets just don't hit. I'm all in for reducing it's effect though - or at least reducing the range it takes place.
As for aiming, I don't mind aim acceleration. I didn't find it as annoying as OP.

Do you really care? you can't automatically see my signature anyway.

what i would like is to choose my vertical and horizontal look sensitivity

I Only Look Special

I really never have a problem with aim acceleration in Halo 3, but if people have a problem with it I'm all for having an option to turn it on or off.

Agreed. Auto aim and magnetism are needed in console games because the thumbsticks do not allow players to be accurate enough.

As for Aim Acceleration, get rid of it. If it is kept, at least give people the option of turning it off.

The problem with no auto aim is that it becomes almost impossible to play the game (kind of like when you try to betray a teammate). Instead of completely removing auto aim, just reduce to the level of Halo 1.

I also vote in favor of removing Auto-Aim completely. Doesn't get much more skill-based than that.

But I agree with the OP.

Not to ruin anyone's fun but this thread has nothing to do with auto aim. You guys might want to make another topic devoted to it so there's no confusion.

Play a custom FFA game with your friends where you're all on the same team, eliminating auto aim.

Now tell me how much you want to play a whole game of that without a keyboard.

Seems like more people would pay attention to this since the removal of aim acceleration will instantly improve the shooting mechanics of Halo: Reach. I guess most people don't care that much : (

Every time you sneeze into an open Febreze portal the boner-tree drive shaft will spin into ketchup. But it doesn't stop at the number two pizza bell, not even close. It continues into the seventy eight minute long pile of green, sobbing cheese trains with no more butter, but more like the steak owed the tin cans some lovin'.

Yes they did.

Aim acceleration should not be in Reach, I'd rather have a constant speed.

Also, we should be allowed to change both our x-axis and y-axis sensitivity.
