STFU and GTFO this isn't CoD..... Just leave now before you get flamed....... Non customizable weapons is what helps make Halo, Halo.

Proud frenchie, elite fan, anthro artist not hellbent on yiff convention/pics/whatever, mature and intelligent forum guy, 4chaner, halo 2 lover and halo 3 hater.

if it only changes the look of the weapon, it'd be fun, really.

but if it gives an advantage of any sort, then it's CoD territory... and CoD is not halo.

yes it's the the "omg dis is not crawl of doody!!11" but when people buy a halo game, they expect to find the gameplay you have in other halo games (everybody equal with same weapons), not a CoD like gameplay.

I don't actually like the idea, whichever game uses it.
So, after you've beaten the game what can you do in level 1? Either
a) play with crappy weapons, because you got used to the power of late-game weapons
OR
b) -blam!- Covenant bodies with overpowered super weapons.

Either options sounds lame..

EDIT: Sorry about the word '-blam!-', I didn't know '-blam!-' was considered a -blam!- word, like -blam!-, -blam!-, -blam!-, -blam!-... dick?.. :D

Here cometh teh Anti-Blam Hammer..

I hate every single last idea you've come up with.

They are nothing more than gimmicks and/or utterly ridiculous. They are not good ideas.

What's the point in being able to move the scope slightly forward, backwards, or to the side? Is there any purpose to it? No. Useless features and gimmicks for stuff is getting out of hand. They only exist to take the focus away from the lack of gameplay, depth, and story.

As for rewarding the player with advantages and "Perks" (see if you can recall that word) provides ludicrous benefits to those whom have played longer.
As an example, let us say that I am a terrible Halo player, with a 0.50 K/D ratio. Now, let us put into affect your ideas. I suck in PvP situations, but rock it out on Campaign. Because i have completed the Legendary Campaign, I have now unlocked Four Shot Bursts for the Battle Rifle.

We shall now assume that I play Matchmaking now, with my nifty perk that the other players of my skill level do not have. I an now able to 3 shot them, while they still have to 4-shot me to get the same result (death). That's an unfair advantage, no?

Just because you've suggested something slightly different, doesn't mean it's not like the original.

Rewarding players based on time played, isn't Halo.
It is generally associated with the present day game that employs it most famously, Call of Duty.

Is ODST's Firefight mode original? By your logic yes. It's not like anything ever seen before, because the waves are random, and skulls being turned on and off throughout.

Is that the truth though?
No.
It is simply a survival mode that has existed a long time now, but with a twist.

Stop being so god damned conceited. Your ideas are not good.

Or the ability to shoot rainbows through the Spartan Lazer

Technically, you are already shooting 1/7 of a rainbow...

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

It doesn't seem to fit well with every other game in the series.

It also destroys the standard balance that makes halo start fair.

yes it would be cool but all guns would have to be the same speed and strength wise.

Im Canadian Eh!

Wouldnt work. This is Halo Not Call of Duty. In Multi-player, we pick up weapons. We dont start off with them

i like his idea because it has merit and could make an offline 4 player custom game entertaining if everyone used they're own variant of the same basic weapons. besides if you change a weapons rate of fire it wont neccessarily change its power it just changes how fast it puts bullets in bodys wich would also naturally reduce the accuracy and the power of each shot. cosmetic changes would be sorta like army of 2 where you could purchase upgrades as you went through the game from a bigger magazine to just turnin ur gun gold wich did nothing but looked awesome. honestly it wouldnt really change much unless u went overboard on the upgrades and completely -blam!- ur gun up to the point where 1 out of every 100 bullets hit an actual target so yea its alil unlike halo but so far halos changed alot from combat evolved to 3 the pistol lost its zoom and its hunter killing power the br appeared and equipment and new vehicles appeared and now we r losing the shielding and the strength we r used to. besides if u read the books like u claimed to have then you would realise customizing has been thought up already. linda uses a customized sniper rifle on several occassions. beside who r we to decide wat halo is none of us made halo none of us were on the team that made halo combat evolved or halo 2 3 wars or odst so noone on this forum can say wat is and isnt halo unless they r a bungie employee and more importantly 1 of the creators of the halo universe.
