If anyone here likes to do the occasional race, you will probaly notice the bfmracing.killerpings.com server. It is up all the time, night and day. I am here to complain about the -blam!- moderators on the server. If you play on that server, you will notice that people get banned for "camping"....in the middle of the feild in blood gulch, at least 100 yds from either teleporters. I personally got kicked for killing a warthog gunner with a sniper rifle. At the same time, a memeber of their clan, bfm Elvis was running around with active camo and a rocket launcher. He telecamped me to death at least 4 times while i was trying to reach warthogs in the center of the map in order to complete some laps. I was -blam!-ed at for not racing, but how is one supposed to race if one cant even get a vehicle? This was a very blatant example of admins abusing their players. If you have ever played on that server, post here about any abuse you may have seen or heard about.

I know what you meen. It happens to allmost everybody and all the time. Even if your not playing race, if you kill the host a few times, and they get mad they ban you. It mostly happens with clan servers, so just don't join them.

I know! its rediculous. There should be some kind of rule that would not allow a certian ip adress to start a dedicated server if there were enough reports of The admin abousing the players. We gotta stick it to the man.

Del beano,
You seem to be certain th@ BFM is a unfair server, as it bans "campers".
The server ops, Mainly Elvis and Tag, ban according to the official BFM Racing Rules, which you are advised to read before playing on their server. If you hav been banned 'unfairly' read the rules, and if u still feel vindicated, talk to a member of their server, and voice yr complaints to them, rather than 2 a forum.

wow, i'm really nice compared to that host. I don't ban for camping. i rarely ever ban, and i don't ban for more than 2 minutes if i do ban. Do unto others what you want others to do to you.

When I ban, I always use a warning-kick-ban system. I give them a warning for things like intentional suicide, TK, cr@ptalk, camp, etc. If they dont comply, I kick them, and rarely (if ever) do I ban. I find that giving them a warning usually either makes them stop and play nicely or leave. Ive had to ban only about 3 times, since most people dont come back when kicked.

bfm Elvis...Ive heard of him. I never put comments about other people, but...Im also not very happy with him.

i usually take people off my banlist the next day, even though i've set up their ban for only 2 minutes.

This has happened to me so many times, and I'am left with the feeling of jumping into my computer and going to the admins house through the internet and strangling them to death. If anyone knows the Sniper CTF Church Server, I joined in there and as soon as I was in all I was hearing were people being racist and calling each other jews, and nigs and just saying some pretty evil stuff about those races. I didn't say a word and I just played the game. Then after a while most of the racist's (4 of them) left on their own accord, they were not banned because they said "F you all I'm going". so then it's a teamgame and only me and one other guy who switches sides, so were just playing around sticking each other and sometimes we died IDK why. Then I get banned from that -blam!- room for messing around when those horrible racist didn't. Are the Admins of that server racist??? I think so. BTW someone metioned to read the rules of server BMF, but your their to game, not read some stupid packet made by some control freaks, plus were are you even going to find their -blam!- little rule book?

I agree, it just happened to several of us who were playing on their server today.

They were abusing their administrative powers to the fullest, like banning people for sitting in a hog gun before a driver came in (1 second later). It was sickening that they needed that much of a power trip just to play a game.

I personally was banned for getting killed by a host, spawning, and killing him since he was right next to me. -blam!-, no?

I hear you. Been kicked twice for killing a host too often or holding the top of the rankings. Sometimes it was because I was at the bottom (everyone has an off day) or because I had "bad ping" (THEY said I was lagging, but I had 130 average and was mid range in scores...dunno. Maybe they don't like the name?

I avoid camping in a race, unless its teams and I've completed all my required laps. Killing peeps is for slayer, I race for the "zoom". But when someone camps me, I fight back. Even chase them down on foot if I have to to get that BLAM!ing fuel rod out of their hands. Sounds like you got played. Live and learn: don't go back to their servers. If the clan can't entice outsiders to play, it will get boring quick. And when the funny flies away, the players rarely stay.

bfmracing.killerpings.com

There you will find the rules for our server. You are more then welcome to come onto our forums to explains to us what happened. If an understanding is made, you will be let back on the server if you were banned. I believe we are a very forgiven group that love to have a clean Race on Halo. We have rules to our server because simply camping in our opinon is what Slayer is for. We want to race.

On a personal note, I think you should read the rules and then realize why you were kicked/banned. If you say you had a sniper rifle, you would have been warned not to snipe. Sniping of any kind isnt allowed on our servers. And after killing that hog as you say, you are required to take it. Using the sniper rifle put you in the wrong as it was, if you didnt take the hog then it is camping. And Elvis running around with a rocket launcher... most likely he jacked a hog and took it. I wasnt there. I respected the clan before I joined and now that I am a part of it I respect it twice as much. BFM is great people who have fun. When we have people that even minutely misbehave, it is harder to race. We have to stop, give the warning, and then we usually end up arguing with the person as they deny it. Like Dale said, come to our forums and tell us what happened. How do you justify coming to separate forums and dissing the server because of a possible misunderstanding? So come talk to us on the BFM forums and we can resolve this in a professional manner instead of childishly causing problems and stirring up feelings of dislike. We all like to race and have a good time but you have to follow the rules we set. You will find it funner for yourself and those around you.

*EDIT* - LOL, didn't realize my clan-mates were posting at the same time. Sorry about the redundancy.

Since this topic has come back to life, I'll post a response.

Our clan leaders set up (and pay for) this server for racing, and made rules that they felt would encourage good, fun, family-oriented racing, and discourage those who would rather come in and practice their slayer skills on easy targets. The name of the server is also the url of the BFM website (www.BFMRacing.killerpings.com), where the server rules are clearly posted. We don't allow camping (and we're not just talking about portal camping), sniping, team killing/nading, foul language (this includes player names that are "questionable", and is enforced because we often have children racing/watching), or personal (verbal) attacks on clan members or other racers.

As for banning - our policy is to give warnings first, then kick, then ban if the behavior continues. We also talk to one another on a daily basis, so if someone is kicked for breaking the rules, then comes in later and does it again, they will be banned by whatever admin is online. We do not kick or ban for "shooting the host", unless the shooter is also camping. However, we are more likely to ban campers who shoot us, since we then have direct evidence of who is camping (we prefer to verify camping activity, rather than responding solely to accusations).

And finally, if you are banned and feel it was in error, or you go back and read our rules and are willing to follow them in the future, you are free to sign on to our forums and talk to us about it. If you are polite, and present reasonable arguments, we will consider removing the ban. We do make mistakes from time to time. Frankly, admin is hard work, and very distracting when you're trying to race. When there is a lot of camping activity, and we are having to stop racing a lot to deal with it, we tend to get more of a hair trigger.

As for turning away racers - Our server is almost always full, except maybe for the wee hours of the morning. I often find myself waiting for a slot to open up when I want to get on (and we have a policy not to kick just to let members on). There are a lot of racers who enjoy a good clean racing environment, where they don't have to worry about being rocketed every time they approach a particular nave point. We get new requests to join our clan on a weekly basis. So I'm not particularly worried that we are going to run our of people to race on our server.

you guys must understand that most of the time clan leaders or recruiters are under a lot of stress so you have to cut clans some slack, even in fun stuff like races we are looking for recruits or training our clans. of course it doesnt excuse what we do though. i am not defending us much. we do get pissed cause we die and we do get pissed for no good reason but that is why i have my two warning system. i warn twice then i ban. i rarely kick cause come on we dont want jackass people like them back. but if i do get pissed off and ban for no reason i unban and most of the time they will come back in and either ask why or just get in my face and leave. we are still human beings we are not perfect. we also sometimes ban the wrong people cause your in a hury or something so please cut us some slack we are only trying to make our servers better for everyone.

You cant please everyone but Im sure the people who enjoy racing and follow the rules we have set up, are very pleased with our server. To say I was kicked or banned for killing the host to much is an easyway to get people to agree with you even if you know that wasnt true. We will enforce our rules and for the people who dont take the time to go read them we give warnings and will explain the rule to them when asked unless we are very busy adming then we will post our website for them to go check out the rules. We are very determined to keep our server a family server so parents can feel pretty safe to allow their kids to play there. We have people of all ages who play on our server and we will keep our server clean and we will uphold our rules. Admins are people and people sometimes make mistakes that is one of the main reasons we put our forum address in the game title. This allows anyone who feels like they were kicked or unbanned unjustly to be able to come to our forums and post a complaint in a professional manner. Sometimes we have had to admit to a mistake and have appologized or the person who was complaining has appologized to us and been unbanned because they didnt understand the rules and agreed to follow them. Anyone who has had to admin a server while playing knows this is more like work than playing but its necessary to admin in order for everyone on the server to have a good time and keep the server clean. We will always uphold our rules on our server and we welcome anyone willing to follow the rules to come play with us and see how much fun race can really be. One last thing about kicking or banning. We never kick anyone to let another BFM on the server. We sit an wait for an opening just like anyone else. Even me and Tag who are paying the bills sit and wait. Thats how important it is to us not to kick anyone that doesnt deserve it.
