*EDIT* - LOL, didn't realize my clan-mates were posting at the same time. Sorry about the redundancy.
Since this topic has come back to life, I'll post a response.
Our clan leaders set up (and pay for) this server for racing, and made rules that they felt would encourage good, fun, family-oriented racing, and discourage those who would rather come in and practice their slayer skills on easy targets. The name of the server is also the url of the BFM website (www.BFMRacing.killerpings.com), where the server rules are clearly posted. We don't allow camping (and we're not just talking about portal camping), sniping, team killing/nading, foul language (this includes player names that are "questionable", and is enforced because we often have children racing/watching), or personal (verbal) attacks on clan members or other racers.
As for banning - our policy is to give warnings first, then kick, then ban if the behavior continues. We also talk to one another on a daily basis, so if someone is kicked for breaking the rules, then comes in later and does it again, they will be banned by whatever admin is online. We do not kick or ban for "shooting the host", unless the shooter is also camping. However, we are more likely to ban campers who shoot us, since we then have direct evidence of who is camping (we prefer to verify camping activity, rather than responding solely to accusations).
And finally, if you are banned and feel it was in error, or you go back and read our rules and are willing to follow them in the future, you are free to sign on to our forums and talk to us about it. If you are polite, and present reasonable arguments, we will consider removing the ban. We do make mistakes from time to time. Frankly, admin is hard work, and very distracting when you're trying to race. When there is a lot of camping activity, and we are having to stop racing a lot to deal with it, we tend to get more of a hair trigger.
As for turning away racers - Our server is almost always full, except maybe for the wee hours of the morning. I often find myself waiting for a slot to open up when I want to get on (and we have a policy not to kick just to let members on). There are a lot of racers who enjoy a good clean racing environment, where they don't have to worry about being rocketed every time they approach a particular nave point. We get new requests to join our clan on a weekly basis. So I'm not particularly worried that we are going to run our of people to race on our server.
