Graphics
- FOV = 80/90° (like Halo 1, it worked much better IMHO)
- A problem with Halo 3's normal maps : when shadowed, normal mapped surfaces display inverse orientation instead of not displaying bump at all (see it here, on the shadow of the Elite, or here on the shadow of the Spartan).
Gameplay
- More immersive battles. This can be done by adding Banshees passing rapidly just above the player, working the sound a little bit more (making it more... "apocalyptic"), using several scripted sequences or advanced parametric animation so we have the feeling of playing with REAL people (remember the scripted appearances of the beasts at the very beginning of Doom 3... that worked really well ; then, play Killzone 2 and you'll have the global idea).
- Less "rigid" animations on first person view. I mean in Halo 3 when we fall off something a bit high and then hit the ground, we just stop there instantly. It could be much better if when falling, we'd see the weapon going up, then when hitting the ground we'd stare at our feet for an instant and bend knees a bit, etc. + more inertia when suddenly changing walking (or running) direction.
If you don't see what I mean, play Quake 3 !
