The multiplayer is like a class base system many of you have suggested already.
-the stronger your class is, the longer the respawn time is. This is to prevent overpowered characters running the battlefield and owning everyone. There will also be a class limit. You will wait the required spawn time before you are spawned onto the battlefield. There can be a waiting list of some sorts so everyone can be a stronger character like a spartan so no one can hog the character.
-the battle rifle is not in multiplayer due to the easy kills it can get on grunts.
-most characters will have special abilities, different weapon layouts, etc. Some will not be able to pick up certain weapons.
-this is a basic blueprint, everything is subject to change.
UNSC
1.Marine-basic infantry
Respawn time-25 seconds
Weapons:a.AR/pistol(no scope)
b.Shotgun/pistol(no scope)
Grenades: 2
Advantages: Good all around soldier. Medium respawn time.
2.Marine-recon
Respawn time-35 seconds
Weapons:a.AR/pistol
b.Shotgun/pistol
Grenades:1 recon grenade. When thrown on the battlefield, it will emit green gas. A weapons/ammo drop will fall down in the area.
3.Marine-engineer
Respawn time-25 seconds
Weapons:SMG/pistol
Grenades:none
Equipment: 2 mines (good for taking out vehicles)
Special abilities(left bummper): Can repair vehicles.
4.Marine-sniper *class limit-4*
Respawn time-30 seconds
Weapons:Sniper rifle/pistol
Grenades:none
Special abilities:Can lay prone to provide more cover.
5.ODST *class limit-4*
Respawn time-50 seconds
Weapons:a.AR/SMG
b.Shotgun/SMG
Grenades:2
Special abilities:Has a stamina bar which lets them take more damage. Can be drop anywhere onto the battlefield in the green safe zones.
6.Spartan *class limit-3*
Respawn time: 75 seconds
Weapons:a.AR/SMG
b.Shotgun/SMG
Grenades:2
Special abilities:Has shield. Can hijack vehicles. Runs faster and does more melee damage.
Covenant
1.Grunt
Respawn time- 10 seconds
Weapons:a.plasma pistol
b.needler
Grenades:2
Special abilities:kamikaze. Turns you into a ticking time bomb. 5 seconds to detonate. Must have 2 grenades, not 1.
Advantages: very short respawn time.
Disadvantages: Weak health, cannot melee.
2.Grunt-gunner
Respawn time-20 seconds
Weapons- plasma turret
Grenades:none
Special abilities: Can deploy a plasma turret. Helpful for holding down strategic locations. Can not shoot while holding it. Must deploy to shoot. Left trigger to deploy. 5 second set up time.
3.Jackal-shield
Respawn time-25 seconds
Weapons- plasma pistol/shield
Special ablilites:Left trigger to raise shield. Can not move when doing this. Due to their superior eye sight, can zoom in with pistol.
4.Jackal-sniper *class limit-4*
Respawn time- 35 seconds
Weapons:Covenant sniper rifle
5.Elite *class limit-4*
Respawn time- 50 seconds
Weapons: a.plasma rifle
b. energy sword
Grenades: 2
Special abilites:Shield.Can hijack vehicles.
6.Hunter *class limit-2*
Respawn time- 85 seconds
Weapons:fuel rod cannon
Special abilities: left trigger to shield bash. Right trigger to fire cannon. 3 second charge to fire cannon. 3 second cooldown time after you fire.
