I think we need a new site layout, or at least a sub site layout. The bottom bar, Where it has games, stats, community, inside bungie, and bungie store is a nice little add on. But lets face it, most of scroll we don't click the little arrows to go down. And that bar slows the scrollwing speed down toa crawl. This has made me acutally leave the site in frustration before as I know where I want to go but that bar slows me down so it takes 2 minuets to get there when it should only take me 30 seconds.
the color lay out and everything else is nice, but I think we need a selector to be able to choose if we want that bar there or not.

There is a nice minimise button for it...

I like the bar, and I remember the massive debate about it after the site launched...

I wouldn't mind a less intensly graphical interface for 56k users... this forum takes up to 2 minutes per page when I'm at home. It would be nice to be able to remove the bar, it hogs a good chunk of resources from my little telephone wire.

Even when I minimize it, it the site is still slow. I'm not saying its bad or anything, a lot of people like it. But for the people that have slower connections or just like to broswe fast and not have all the bells and whistles everywhere, should have an option to completly remove it.

Do you, by chance, have FireFox?

Hmmm well i'm not getting into the whole Nav bar argument again, but i think you have a kind good idea.. perhaps a cutom layout (you deicide where things go) ? There could be drag and drop menus, navs etc. Hmm i guess that would be quite cool.. it would take up a load of performance power though

I honestly really hate the site's design. But I guess I got used to it because I'm still here.

lol. I guess so :)
But this raises an interesting point. I mean i don't think it would necassarily take up more power if the site was re- designed. It would certainly take some time and the site would probably have to be offline for sometime. Well we wait and hope of the New New Hotness

Then that might be the problem. Switch to Internet Explorer. Firefox doesn't work well on this site, even though some people say they have no problems with it.

What can you do?

This site caters to people with fast internet connections and fast computers, with a select amounts of browsers. Anything else, and it just doesn't work well. Accessibility did NOT seem to be a large concern when developing the website. It doesn't comply to web standards, and uses way too many images. That's the way it is, and I bet it isn't gonna change.

Firefox >>> IE

And I agree. Even though I'm on cable, This site is still WAY to slow for comfort. But my biggest compaint is that navbar. Thats what slows most of it down.

I, too, prefer the old design. This one goes against almost everything I learned in school (web dev classes).

No, it's a bug in Firefox that slows everything down (yes, they DO exist).

I'm using Opera right now. It seems to be doing fine. But I still think we need the option to remove that navbar.

I'm on IE. Still far too graphically intense for 56kers here. 1-2 minutes per page.
