I know everyone over here is busy at Bungie, but with the features of widgets for Mac Os X Tiger, I would love to have a widget dedicated to all things bungie, or even just Halo related topics. I'm not an Apple fanboy, but I think it would be neat if Bungie went back to there roots for this. If anyone has ideas or opinions, please post here.

I know I already have posted this in "The Underground", but Jimmychat thought it might get more attention here.

Bungie's not going to do this. There is too much bureaucracy involved for them to release an official widget, so there's really no point in waiting for one.

Here is a starting point for anyone interested in developing one, though. Maybe this thread will inspire some fan designed widgets.

Maybe some sort of aggregator or spider that keeps track of threads in the forums? Or a quick way to look up gamer tags? Or how about a cheater reporter, you just type in a gamer tag and it reports it to microsoft? Or a calculator that only works for powers of 7?

Remember, trust is calculated daily, and the maximum value possible changes every day too. Since the titles are based on the percentage your trust value is compared to the maximum value, it can easily change if the max value goes up further than you go up in the intervening time, even if you haven't had any negative items against you.

In other words, no the system isn't buggy, stop asking why your title changed, I'm not going to tell you.

Pm Reinginko about it. Now theres someone who likes his Macs.

How about a widget that shows you what friends you have online? Just a list of all of your friends that are currently on live, and what game they're playing if possible. Or just people on Halo 2. Either way would be really useful.

yes, and there is a widget that countdowns the Xbox 360 launch, which isn't official to my knowledge, but still, very neat. I like the idea of the Xbox Live widget. That would be "very" nice. I was interested in developing a widget, but I looked at the development tools and figured out I am not a programmer nor a developer. I can run Final Cut, but not the best with real "root" programs like that. One Bungie fans must know how to develop a widget though. Please step up to the plate!

I'm still using Panther. Therefore I don't have Dashboard, and a Bungie widget would be more or less useless for me. :)

i think just a cool looking widget that looks like this:

http://www.haloimpulse.com/sig/stats.swf?playerName=k6ng6r00& amp;i=140798&k=585225076&color1=0xF00000&color2=0 xF00000

(the theme i mean)

that has a small box to fill in the place in the link that says "k6ng6r00" with the gamertag you want to see would be exeptionaly easy to make and super good to use

The problem with an xbox live widget that would be functional is getting the online information about Xbox Live from their servers or from Microsoft. Definitly Microsoft doesn't want to volunteer for an Apple project. But that doesn't stop us fans from making a widget that can do something else that interacts with the Xbox. The options are endless but it would definitly take a lot of time and work to do.

Is there already a web site somewhere where you can check that information? It would be pretty trivial to have a widget query that website.

I want to create a widget...I don't have any idea what its going to do yet, and I'm far from being an accomplished programmer, but I'll give it a shot - it's mostly HTML and JavaScript anyway, I think I could handle that.

If anyone wants to suggest any good resources, please do it here, or PM me if your interested in helping out.
