Alright so we can get this straight once in for all. Yes the BR is a great weapon. To think that the starting weapon in halo Reach is going to be the assault rifle is not that smart. MLG is a big part of Halo and promotes the game well. Assault rifle takes alot less skill to use and would not work with MLG at all. Now im not saying the AR wont be in the game at all (it probably will) but bungie will (99% sure) add a weapon that is competetive and can be used at short-medium-somewhat long range. Ar is only a short range weapon which is not what halo 3 is about. In Halo CE there was the pistol which was a great weapon. In Halo 2 and 3 there was the BR. The BR obviously will out power the AR at medium to long range. I love the BR but when i know its going to be a close range battle and i have an AR on me i whip it out. Of course its alot easier to use then the BR but using it at the right time is what matter. I also do not want to flame but to people who want the BR removed... just get good with it. Its not that you hate it, its just you cant use it. If you know how to use you will have a much more enjoyable Halo experience. Halo wont work without a weapon like the BR. Therefore it will not be removed.
Here Something that might upset some of you alot. As you know some MLG fans go to MLG events. Now people from the MLG community have actually met Shishka and other bungie staff at events. They said that " EVERYONE IN THE DESIGN GROUP FOR HALO REACH HAS TO ATTEND AT LEAST ONE MLG EVENT." This means that Halo Reach is going to probably be a competetive type of game. Not to bring you guys down but MLG is advertising Halo in general and making something amazing out of it. This gives bungie money and MLG is getting bigger. So by Bungie making a game that will suit MLG is like investing in them. MLG has big sponsors (doritos, Stride, Dr. Pepper, EXC) All im saying is MLG is only going to get bigger and while Halo 3 is made mostly for fun Halo reach is going to be competetive. PC
