Unless your actually going to go to a halo ring, I think the game should just be called Reach. People know what it is and it's not going to change the money made by adding halo to the title, especially if it's a good game.

Halo is the name of the series, its just an easy to recognise name

Just because there isn't a halo ring doesn't mean that it can't be called Halo

I'm just a 3D artist trying to go straight.

You must understand that not everyone pays attention to E3, video-game websites or even video-games at all. Most people who play Halo 3 don't pay close attention to storyline or the books.

"Halo" is a multi-million (possibly Billion) dollar name. The power of that four-letter-word can push millions of games and draw the attention of every browsing gamer at gamestop. Imagine if "Halo Wars" was called "Harvest Wars", It probably would have been a commercial disaster. But the average 'Joe' walked by and saw "Halo" in the title and immediately associated it with the franchise, and all the good credit along with it.

I agree with you: If the game has no 'Halo' then it shouldn't be called 'Halo'. Unfortunately Microsoft has struck golden oil with this franchise and anything remotely associated with the universe will have a big 'HALO' slapped on it.

Danny

Actually its is still about the halo even though it take place on reach, because you have to think of the time frame of this games it take place before the event of halo 1

Seriously? SERIOUSLY? Wow. Halo is the name of the series. Please, learn something before making suggestions. You do not change the name of the series midway through just becuase this installment has no Halo ring in it.

The Halo rings are what is central to the entire Halo series, that's why all things Halo retain the name.

In the days of old, there were legends of a land long lost to time. This land was known as Ranna'Mor. Ranna'Mor was said to contain in its borders 7 warriors. These warriors had once unleashed a veritable hell upon the ancient world, until they were locked away. My name is Toriad, and I am one of those warriors. Our return is approaching. Do not run away, do not cower in fear; take solace in your final days, for that is all we can do. -Legend of Ranna'Mor

Actually, the simple addition of Halo, now, can mean a lot. The name of the series is called Halo, and as such, anything based of said series needs to share the name so people make the connection. Imagine going to a story and seeing an advertisement for something called "Reach". To some, and instant connection is made, but for most, they'll be wondering what this "Reach" is, or what the title means. Now, put Halo in front of that, and almost everyone who sees the advertisement will make the instant connection.

Halo is the name of the Universe the game is set in. And of course it will change the money they make if 'Halo' is before it. Modern Warfare 2 tried to remove the 'Call of Duty' prefix, and found that no one knew what the hell it was. Once they added 'Call of Duty' to it, interest rose up 100%.

if you were to take Halo from the title people wouldnt reconise the game as being a halo game but as a newly released game that is a companys first try at making a game

but any way in halo reach it is possible for bungie to make the story line have a halo in it.
bungie are always filled with surprises

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

Why is Captain Kirk climbing the mountain?

Yeah without the Halo in the name people would have no idea that the game was actually linked to the franchise, not everyone is on the downlow like us.
