I have yet for somebody to give cold hard facts about how this game is revolutionary. You people keep saying it is, but you never back it up with anything.

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

I would say the first one cetainly was, after Halo:CE came out every FPS game mirrored it. Halo 2 was a great sequal certainly but not revolutionary.

I would like to know who keeps saying it is though? Also didn't your thread get locked for this? inciting arguement will get you banned.

I fairly sure that if his IQ was 4, he'd be a vegetable. Or a rock with aspirations of being a vegetable.

Because Chuck Norris says it's revolutionary, thus making it fact.

How was Halo CE revolutionary then? There were PLENTY of fps that came out after Halo CE that didn't mirror it. In fact, to say that EVERY fps game mirrored it after its release, is just asinine. Why? Because if you didn't play EVERY fps that was released between Halo CE and Halo 2, you're just talking out of your backside.

Probably what he's trying to say is that Halo popularized the "regenerating health" system, which a few FPS's did after Halo. I'm not saying that Halo was the first to do it, it's just that it was the first FPS to make it popular.

Not just that, there was the grenade button and melee button. Most games prior you had to equip the grenades or melee. There was also the way that vehicles were itengrated into the game freely rather than on rails like all FPS games before.

Also OP i've been playing FPS games on multiple platforms for nearly 15 years so give up, stop defending the PC because although PC gaming is great there are no games like Halo out there.

Original counter strike had features that i still see copied now in PC shooters it's pathetic, the PC gamer is a dying breed my friend the console gamers outnumber PC gamers 5 to 1.

Stop being a stubborn dinosaur.

It revolutionized Xbox live dip-blam!-. Did you know anyone that played XBL before Halo 2 came out? No you didn't. It pretty much started online console gaming! It was the most played game on xbox live for 2 years straight. The halo series pretty much gave MLG it's start! How is that not revolutionary?

Ohh, and fill this out and tell me how you feel afterwards. . .

I don't care if Halo popularized something. Making something popular =/= revolutionary. If I'm not mistaken, I believe Tribes had rejuvenating health and that came out in 1998.

Who the heck cares if they have separate buttons for grenades and melee? The only way you could use them both is to melee with one hand while holding a grenade in the other. Guess what? Halo and Halo 2 doesn't allow you to do that. I'm also sure that if I dug enough I would come across a good amount of PC FPS that had melee and grenade mapped to two different keys.

Again, Tribes had vehicles that weren't "railed" to the map or anything like that.

It's always fun proving how big of a fanboy you people are. Just give it up and admit that your crappy games aren't and were never revolutionary in any way, shape, or form.

When are you going to figure out that PC and Console is a completely different thing. . . Your logic=flawed, your opinion=no one cares, your "facts"=/=truth. . .

There would be no kickass console FPS games if Halo never came out. NONE I SAY!

There is very little difference when comparing FPS on a PC and a console. Those differences aren't even part of the discussion so it's a mute point.

How was the AI and the graphics in Halo revolutionary? Older games like Half-Life, Rainbow Six, and Rogue Spear have better AI. Graphics can't even be revolutionary. Even just by lookes, Halo didn't compare to the mountain of FPS on the PC, which will almost always have better graphics then a console.

There were tons of "kickass" FPS on consoles before Halo was made. Quake 3 Arena, Perfect Dark, GoldenEye 007, The World Is Not Enough, and Turok 2, just to name a few.

OK again, PC is not Console! Games on PC are different than console! get over it! And once again, halo revolutionized Multiplayer in general! The feel of the game, the way it is played, and everything about it will never be recreated. What online FPS games did you EVER play online before halo 2 on console? NONE! Why don't you go and find something else to do with your time instead of trying to find reasons why Halo 2 is bad. It's a good game, if it were not a good game it, agian, would not have been the MOST played game on xbox live for two years straight. Get a life guy. . .

Halo 2 revolutionised console gaming online.

Until Halo 2 came out, it was almost exclusively a PC gamers thing, and PC gaming always held the image of being nerdy.

Thanks to Halo 2, Microsoft switched focus into emphasising Xbox Live, which lead to the Live-orientated Xbox 360, which is now widely accepted as a social gaming network, where players can talk on mics, and play games like CoD4/Halo 3 without being labelled as nerds or geeks.

I honestly think without Halo 2, Xbox Live wouldn't be anything now compared to what it is. That game truly revolutionised console gaming.

This is the average H2 Fanboy.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

Console online gaming had existed before Halo 2 (dreamcast, PS2, xbox live), but halo 2 made it popular. It also matchmade differently than other games (no more server browser).

Oh, and before halo 2, there were Counter Strike xbox, Unreal Championship, Mechassualt, and other originals. And there was the dreamcast (quake III arena, which is STILL online today), which had online over dial up, and the PS2, which was uncentralized like live.

That said, Halo 2 is still a good game, but it just wasnt the first online game.

Oh, and Horrormaster34 is not the only Halo 2 hater/troll here, there is another one in the Halo PC forum who pulls fake "facts" from a uncreditible youtube video, saying hitboxing makes it "n00bified", while playing different game with hitboxing and unbalanced weapons: Halo 3.

You're a moron. Half-life and the Rainbow six series have nowhere near as good of AI as the Halo series has.

Of course one could argue Half-life 2 has better AI, but that's a different story.

Banky: That's what the internet is for. Slandering others anonymously.
Jay: Well, how do we get all these -blam!-s stop talking -blam!- about us on the Internet.
Banky: What've I been telling you? There's nothing you can do about it. Unless you show up at all their houses and beat the -blam!- out of them.

Just to add to the list Halo CE made the 2 weapon only option popular.

Halo 2 was really famous for being the first game to be a fast flowing online shooter for the console. Duel Wielding was also it's love child.

Yes, many games had those features before CE, but how many improved on them, made them work smoothley even on a console, and had them all in one game?

That's right, only Halo: CE was able to do that at the time.
