There is no greater catharsis than arguing on the Flood.

The maps won't be free in two months. And it's the best map pack yet. The campaign is very replayable. Firefight.

52,000 kills in Halo 2 and more legendary playthroughs in CE than you can imagine. I am truly a God.

Yes, but why should someone have to pay for the same multiplayer content twice? I am not blaming Microsoft for my decisions. I just think that the price is unfair. Simple as that. Don't put words in my mouth. A lot of people on these forums seems to do that.

And, do you seriously think that LAN parties are a practical alternative to MM?

That is a choice you have to make. They decided to make sure that everybody who is playing Halo online gets the DLC. This is a good way of doing it.

As I said twice before, contact Microsoft and see if they wont release ODST with out the Halo 3 multiplayer disk. Perhaps they are already thinking of doing that.

Either way you were informed of what you were purchasing well in advanced. You knew how much the DLC cost you the first time (the term "you" is refering to everybody with this issue, not just you personally). It was in your judgement that it would be worth it to pay it again. If your investment is not what you wanted then get rid of it.

Otherwise all you can do is suck it up and deal with the consequences of your actions. Unfortunate but not unexpected.

I do appologise however for not making myself clearer. I was not trying to single you out individually. The term "you" in my earlier post just fit better than "player".

And yes I do think a LAN is a practical option when compaired to MM. But then again I dont spend 1/4 of my day playing video games.

I actually get out and hang out with my friends. Play some football, baseball, go to movies, have dinner...ect. Thats the point of having friends, is to actually hang out with them.

Yeah, because I clearly don't have friends and play video games by myself all day, but whatever, LAN parties work great for you, but not for most other people (everyone).

And I know you told me to contact microsoft, there's no point reinterating it because there's nothing to argue. Maybe I will maybe I won't.

Also, I would just like to say again that Cod4's matchmaking disables the new maps if you don't have them. I don't know why Bungie has to limit our options.

Only if you did not already buy h3. Those that did buy the maps before should be at least partially reimbursed.

Again that data is worth a total of $60. I dont care if you got the DLC prior to ODST. The data on the two disks that come when you buy ODST is worth that amount.

What would happen if ODST came with those disks and you only payed $30 for it? That means you just wasted $30 on DLC that you didnt need when you get it for free in ODST.

See the problem here?

Microsoft is going to get complaints either way.

Or they could have just sold ODST without the multiplayer disc and sold it for less, like you said. That was actually a pretty good idea. That would appease everyone.

Not liking ODST is an opinion. You dont hav to come on the forums and complain about your bad experiences. Nobody cares.

Ah but those are not the rules of the What If game.

What happens to people who didnt purchase the DLC and were waiting for ODST to come out? They want to play those maps as well, however not online. Should they have to go and deal with all the online downloading garbage when they could just have a hardcopy on their shelf?

Your not going to make everybody happy. The way Microsoft did things was, personally, the right way to go about it.

And yes like I said, you should contact Microsoft about selling ODST on its own with out the Halo 3 multiplayer. I certainly wont as I dont have an issue with it.

And yes LAN parties are very practical. You people just have to get up and actually invite people over. Its really not that hard to do. Heck if you only want 3 people over you only need 1 360. Even easier.

It takes about as much effort as ordering pizza.

No, I meant 2 editions. One comes with ODST and the multiplayer disc and costs $60. The other just comes with the ODST disc for about $30-40.

Fortune favors the Bold

The campaign, i agree is a little weak. Now the flashbacks were pretty good, but i felt like a lot of it was repetitive. Either you were going down long dark roads to find a small search party of 4 grunts and 1 brute, or you were posting up in some position waiting till waves of covenant stop

Luckily I think if you are an MP fan you can grab ODST for $40 from numerous places, and if you are an MP fan you should have no problem trading in your Halo 3 disc. This makes ODST a $20 purchase, which is worth it just for the map pack, as well as you get a bonus game.
Exactly. It's perfect for MP fans, but they seem to be the ones with the most complaints. :/

Let me just say a few things. I started with Halo 2, I love multiplayer, I LOVE any Halo campaign more than mp, and I think ODST is awesome.

My only "complaint" is the connection issues in firefight but I'm sure that'll be taken care soon.... Right? xD

Ehh, its a hell of a lot easier to do matchmaking. LAN parties are hard to set up because my friends are either busy or don't play 360 games.

Still, I think that Bungie should fix h3s matchmaking playlists the way i said earlier, because I doubt Microsoft is gonna let Bungie release the maps for free.

Stop whining. We don't care if you don't like the game. Keep your opinion to yourself.

Punisher, just because this is a Halo 3 forum doesn't mean you should agree with everything Bungie releases. This game has got to be the BIGGEST single mistake Bungie has ever made with Halo. I mean what the -blam!-?? Halo 3: ODST - 3 maps, a recycled Horde mode and not even JUST a team death match playlist. You would have to be brainwashed to agree this game is worth the money, absolutely insane.

edit: oh and I got something to say about firefight, I'm currently watching 2 of my friends (not so good, yet on HEROIC) playing, they have spent over an hour on one choke point on one map. I played the first game of this crap on Heroic and scored a rampage very quickly. This is Zombie/Horde mode, recycled and repackaged bull-blam!-.

Since when have survival modes been renamed "horde" mode? I must have missed the great word change. I didnt realise "survival" didnt exist as a word anymore. Firefight copied horde because they're both survival genre? Get a life.

Message to everyone in this thread.

The op is simply having a cry over the fact that he really sucks at the game (and all games too probably).

I had a blast with the campaign and the only bad part was the warthog run at the end (quite frustrating on legendary) but other then that it was very intense.

Agreed! That was really annoying, especially since you had to cover Virgil. Loved the rest of it though so I still had a really good time.
Yes, you figured me out. I think it may have been Newton that developed the law that you can't have a negative opinion of any Halo game without being bad at all games. You are a genius sir. If I was Bungie I would be proud to have fans like you. Maybe one day they can give you a tour of their studios. You know how to get on short buses don't you?

You realize don't you that 3 periods is an ellipses. An ellipses is s a mark or series of marks that usually indicate an intentional omission of a word or a phrase from the original text. They are usually used to indicate a pause in speech, an unfinished thought, or, at the end of a sentence, a trailing off into silence. So actually that is probably a good thing to use since ODST feels like an unfinished thought.

Im going to agree that ODST wasnt all that it was cracked upto be. The campaign was much too short and it didnt get me excited as the Halo 3 campaign did. The 3 new maps arent really that good and firefight would be much better if you could play as the Chief, I even did all my vidmasters 5 days ago and I still havent been awarded Recon! Halo is built on The Master Chief and thats what is should stick too, maybe a game of how Spartans are born and trained and then going onto how nearly all of them were wiped out. all I can say is that Bungie better pull something out the hat for Reach otherwise their gonna lose all their fans to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.

Absolutely! That is why it is so important that all of us tell Bungie how disappointed we are with this game. That way they will hopefully do better next time. The fact of the matter is this game disappointed a lot of people, and some of those people won't take another chance with Bungie. I personally will play the Reach Beta before I spend another dime with Bungie. There are so many great games coming out and so much great competition, I can't believe that they would release ODST. BUNGIE, ARE YOU LISTENING?!?

Im here to shed some light on ODST. Its good but could be better, but at the end of the day CoDMW2 is gonna rip Bungie and any Halo game into 2 peices, I know it , you know it, everybody knows it. Now your all gonna get angry but its the facts
