look people, i will agree that the game is good, but it is in no way worth $60. Think about everything that you would get in a normal $60 game, and compare it to ODST. ODST is an expansion pack, and it should be priced as an expansion pack. The game should have been valued at $40. You cant say that one game mode is worth $60.

I dont care what Bungie and Microsoft "officially" titled the game because this is in no way a full game.

you will come back for halo:reach and halo 3 was worth 60$ and halo:reach will be 60$ and will be worth it and go away troll and also odst was a stand alone title

I Live for ODST. And nothing can stop me.

dude what is wrong with u, odst rules especially firefight

I hate to say this, but you are one of few.

Halo 3: ODST is selling like mad. The sales are unbelievable.

If you are truly upset with the game, then your points are somewhat valid. Campaign is a little short, I will admit. But I do not think the 3 new Mythic maps will be free in the future, and Firefight definitely has some longevity.

Then you must exclude dozens of other games from the title of "full game" with your logic.

Here is a small list just to name a few:

Mass Effect
Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2
Fable 1 and 2
Too Human
Fallout 3
Bioshock
Assassin's Creed
Sins of a Solar Empire (only multiplayer)
Battlefield 2142 and the majority of the Battlefield series
The majority of the Zelda games
Okami
Almost the entire Final Fantasy series
Godfather
Dark Star One

The list could go on and on. Each one of those titles only operates with one single mod. By your logic they nolonger rate the title of "full game".

And I have looked at what I get in the ODST package.

I get a new and full campaign mode with optional 4 player Co-op. I also get a new Co-op mode called Firefight which is ideal for LAN style gameplay. I also get the entire Halo 3 multiplayer experience which includes: the original Halo 3 multiplayer maps, all of the DLC (worth upwards of $30) and 3 brand new maps.

That content alone is worth atleast $60, to me it is worth more as I would say the campaign and Firefight alone are worth atleast $40.

If you let your personal ideas influence what you find to be a "full game" or not its your problem not ours. But dont you dare try to force that view on us. It is not needed.

You best be trolling.
Or have down syndrome, either way.

For 60$, you get a game, a shatload of maps for free, some not even available otherwise. A new campaign. Firefight. The opportunity to unlock Recon. A free pass to the Reach Beta when its done.

And more.

lol "for $60 you get..... a shatload of maps! for free?" wtf i like the game and i'm ok with everything about it but when you say for 60 bucks you get maps for free... um can you see theres something wrong there lol

Stop your whining.

Just because you already have halo 3 doesn't mean that the cost should be lower. Thats just retarded. Its like buying an icecream, then buying another icecream with sprinkles on top, but then saying you should only have to pay for the sprinkles because you already have an icecream

The beauty of economics. The ice cream man knows full well he can hold the sprinkles in the first round, and when regular ice cream starts to lose it's touch "oh, hai! i haz ur sprinkles jus buy ur ice cream again"...

Wonderful... and completely legal.

i disagree with OP i love ODST it`s great and i`ve already played more of it than H3 lol

H1-H2 an ODST = win(my opinion)

H3 = booo fail *throws tomatoes*(my opinion)

i can`t believe ppl actually hate it

FF was boring to me for a bit then it was win sauce but it isn`t as good as cod waw n@zi zombies

in my 1st playthrough i thought bungie missed one of their greatest things in every halo which is glitches. Remember how in H1 they had thousands then H2 they had less but still was great fun

H3- not much and they made big maps but most was blocked off by IB`s

ODST-the same as H3 at first but then "ping" fun glitches galore it is still great to play =D

i just hope bungie put more eastereggs and glitches in reach

I think your concept is stupid. but let me add on...Why would i pay for my ice cream (mythic maps) and have to buy the sprinkles separate(mythic map pack 2)?If i brought halo 3 and all halo 3 maps to go with halo 3 i dont see the need to buy halo 3:odst to use Halo 3 maps.Theyre not even compatible with halo 3 odst. theyre just another set of addons which if you dont have you cannot even play a majority of HALO 3 Playlist.
theyre basically saying if you would like some sprinkles buy another ice cream. but what if i only had $10 for the new map pack? its not the point of ooh im rich and i can afford it. its called common sense. Thats why america is where it is today. And you're a helper

I'm the Master chief

Yeah well I think the game is GREAT! The price was maybe too high, but i still bought it. And I feel that you people are attacking Bungie! Now that pisses me of... I remember that i read in a weekly update that Bungie was negotiating with Microsoft to set the price lower. Microsoft is setting the price and not Bungie. If you have a problem about the price, go and talk to Microsoft!

As for the Ice Cream version:
The kid buys an vanilla Ice-cream with sprinkles on top. After a while that kind of Ice-Cream becomes a little less popular. So the man in the back that's making the Ice-cream starts to make smaller strawberry ice-creams with a little more sprinkles Plus he gives you a free lollipop. The man by the cash-register keeps on selling this new ice-cream for the same price as the old one. The kids buy this new ice-cream. Some of them liked it. Others got pissed of because they already ate a bigger ice-cream for the same price and couldn't wait for their parents to come home and unwrap theirs lollipops.

There are background stories if you do those its a seven hour game so stop rushing through the game and play a little longer

  • 10.26.2009 5:14 PM PDT

I'm not satisfied with the game, and here's why.

As an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper I was expected some epic battles. Bursting into a combat zone with my allies taking on the Covenant with my fellow allies, but no.
Instead, we got one lousy drop. WTF!?! And it wasn't even awesome. Instead you wake up 6 hours later?!! and of course..the action was over. Now, instead of an awesome campaign battle, I had to walk around looking for items so "Rookie" can have supernatural flashbacks? Please....

The second CD....I feel scammed. Bungie sold us their same product, twice. Halo 3 Multiplayer and Mythic Maps (for those bought them). But oh, look! 3 more maps! Great. What a bunch of bull. I did not pay $60 to buy 3 maps. Indeed, that was a low blow.

Firefight...fun..but once you get the achievements..who cares? Boring, replace it with Halo 3.

The game is overpriced, and I feel Bungie should release some real ODST missions. I wouldn't mind dropping next to the chief during the Halo 2 missions, maybe the perspective of the other troops. We fight this battle while the Chief fights the other. There needs to be some allusions to the original game, there wasn't even a mention of the Chief.

Please Bungie, just release some new campaign missions, for me the story is most important.

the game was AWESOME so u know what shut up. firefight, good campaign, a halo 3 disc with ALL DLC (for people who dont have halo 3 or who just dont have the DLC) and u know what you...wont...play halo:reach! Bungie dont listen to this guy. keep making halo games, i have ALL the halo games and i like them all. :D so good day to you sir!

  • 10.26.2009 7:49 PM PDT

yeah campaign was short but a game where you play as a ODST squad, brings a few things back from halo 1, the free pass to play the halo reach beta and the ability to get recon (for those who want it) it is a great game. if you are new to halo and just wanted halo 3 for the matchmaking you get a blam load of maps w/o having to buy the map packs.

now for the people ranting about how bad firefight was did you even try them on the harder levels? even if you did did you quit because it got too hard for you around the 3rd set? yeah they needed to do have a matchmaking where you play as a ODST i agree with some of you there.
