It doesn't suck but the only re playability there is is firefight which is way to easy and takes forever. After one gets all achievements there is nothing left fun to do

Halo Tips-
My Tips To Reach Onyx!
My Tips To Reach 50!
In-Game Lessons
Mythic Conqueror of Halo 3 (#16) & Reach (#14)
Onyx Top 1% - #6 in the world (S4), #9 (S5)
Given Recon by Bungie June, 2009.

You look at it as only 3 maps. What about the Legendary Map Pack and Mythic 1 map pack? Those still cost money. So what if you purchased them already on that account? If you have a little brother, or you change accounts, or whatever, you now have purchased the rights for those maps on disk to be used by any account. You have also been given a campaign that was just barely shorter than Halo 3's, but to me a lot more enjoyable and darker, and told a much better story. Not to mention FireFight. Sure, after you go through each time and get the achievements you wont go back much, but it is fun for those times.

Bought it, played it for about 3 weeks and enjoyed every minute, got all the achievements, sold it on ebay, lost $15. Well buy a used copy for the Reach beta (cost about $20). In the end ODST cost me $35. What it should of been in the beginning. Not a bad game though.

The strongest Rivals are also the strongest allies.

first off it was an expansion, second microsoft knew ppl would buy it so they, not bungie, microsoft priced it at 60.

  • 02.25.2010 1:37 AM PDT

I compare economy sedans with economy sedans, and luxury sedans with luxury sedans.

I compare 60$ games with 60$ games. Halo ODST was 60$ and compared to other games it was -blam!-. Look how much the ODST forum has died. It has only been a few months and nobody gives a -blam!-.

GTFO with expansion argument.

i read you. i hope Reach doesn't suck that bad

  • 02.25.2010 1:35 PM PDT

Well I agree it wasn't worth the full 60 dollars due to the fact that this was just a expansion on Halo 3. The graphics were not bungies finest in my opinion for some parts of it, but the gameplay was fun, I liked the story, and the firefight (yeah I know everyone has made this point) was one of the features I had hoped for since Halo: Combat Evolved. I was hoping for something more like the fight sims from Perfect Dark for the 64 myself but this is almost as good. The way I see it, this was a way to tide us over till Reach comes out, but I will restate, it was overpriced for what we got. I still bought it, I still loved it, and there was so much more about it that I absolutely fell in love with such as the weapons and the new HUD features I could go on, but I think I made my point.

Theirs a thing called youtube full of thousands of game reviews. You might want to check it before you blindly buy a game and go to the games forum and -blam!-.

I be gone into the depts of abyss. I'm leaving Bungie.net. Sorry.

I just read this thread......

The primary purposse for this game was(in my own mind), to give halo fans the Recon armor.

Its cost was cuz of Microsoft themselves.

You didn't explored it the way it needed be.

Edit also: To give you the other remaining mythic maps.

...And to your little bauble, the maps are NOT going to be free in any way i can see, not even in two years they are going to be free(Except for cold storage, that is. A generosity from bungie)

Just bought my pre-ordered copy of ODST tonight. Picked it up at 12:22 am and quickly drove it home to play. Already had friends lined up to do 4 player co-op. $60.00 for 3 new multiplayer maps that will be free in another 2 months, and a 5 hour campaign... That doesn't sound good I thought, but then this is Halo and we have all of the previous titles and loved each one. That list includes Halo Wars... Therefore I thought that this one has to be good. Long story short, the 4 of us all agreed that this is a terrible game which is chock full of shortcuts and unpolished hogwash. I plan to take my copy back to the store when it opens for my money back! Bungie - This is not worth $60.00 - not even close. This is a crappy game and that is coming from a Halo-fanboy. You guys lost a customer tonight. I won't buy another one of your titles. I am extremely disappointed by this game.

I bought this for the DLC. I didn't have any of them, so when I bought this used for $40 I got what I would have paid for on the DLC anyway, and another halfway decent game for free.
Not a bad bargain, but i certainly wouldn't have bought something like this new, simply for the campaign.

It wasn't that good. But thats just my opinion.
It had some redeeming quality's, but Bungie has spoiled us and I was just expecting something more.

If you have any problems whatsoever that you are complaining about, please, stop complaining and get the f**k over it. :)

You best be trolling.
Or have down syndrome, either way.

For 60$, you get a game, a shatload of maps for free, some not even available otherwise. A new campaign. Firefight. The opportunity to unlock Recon. A free pass to the Reach Beta when its done.

And more.

Stop your whining.

you know, hes got a point. and hey, this may not be bungies best, but it has some REALLY cool stuff

Beware Qbix89! That master ninja will lay the smackdown on your troll thread!

...why is this still alive like this? I mean, seriously, do you really have to defend whether or not you liked ODST this vehemently?

But do you see the problem?
Everyone pays 60 buck, whether you have the maps or not.

They did not at all care about the folks that bought all this stuff already. The maps were only a bonus if you never bought any of them. For the people that DID buy them, or most of them, they paid 60 bucks for a short campaign that barely has a story and a bare bones survival mode.

The only people that could really defend this game are the folks that never played halo on the 360. Which i guess you partly fall under because you didnt get any of the maps?

  • 02.26.2010 1:25 AM PDT

Every new day is a gift, it's a song of redemption.

I really liked this game. Am I in love with it? Not particularly. But then again I haven't "loved" any Halo games SINCE Halo CE. Was it worth 6o bucks? I'd say yea. Firefight can get epic, the campaign is still fun to play after 8 times, and I for one can't freakin' wait for the Reach Beta. It's a good game. It's not amazing, but it's a hell of a lot better than Halo 2 was.

  • 02.26.2010 1:35 AM PDT

Dont make me take off my belt!
It was my idea for the "New Teabag" of punching someone in the head with the armor lock.

ODST was a lot of fun during the first playthrough, but became a bit boring after i had completely explored mombassa streets and played through a few rounds of Firefight, but to me, if you think about it, it was worth 60 dollars:

20 dollar campaign
10 dollar legendary
10 dollar mythic I
10 dollar mythic II
10 dollar original maps and heroic
free! reach beta

quit whining that it wasnt worth it, you got your money's worth with ODST, Firefight, a new story, the maps, Recon, and Reach.

you even got more than your money's worth, if you bought it for less than 60.
