Punisher, just because this is a Halo 3 forum doesn't mean you should agree with everything Bungie releases. This game has got to be the BIGGEST single mistake Bungie has ever made with Halo. I mean what the -blam!-?? Halo 3: ODST - 3 maps, a recycled Horde mode and not even JUST a team death match playlist. You would have to be brainwashed to agree this game is worth the money, absolutely insane.

edit: oh and I got something to say about firefight, I'm currently watching 2 of my friends (not so good, yet on HEROIC) playing, they have spent over an hour on one choke point on one map. I played the first game of this crap on Heroic and scored a rampage very quickly. This is Zombie/Horde mode, recycled and repackaged bull-blam!-.

Tell some one who never got the map packs for halo 3 that the game isn't worth $60. At the time this game came out it was i think 7 or 650 microsoft points for the legendary map pack and 800 for the mythic, and when mythic part two came out another 800 that's around $30 of map pack action going on, but wait, what if they couldn't use the heroic map pack before (no hard drive), it may be free now but it was 800 ms points at one point. That means they pay 30-40 for the Halo 3: Mythic disc and 20-30 for the ODST disc which includes: A new campaign, firefight and avatar awards. (By use of Halo waypoint)
That makes the game easily worth $60.

Another thing about the mythic disc is you can free up any space that was used for the map packs.

Except the fact that the majority of players HAD HALO 3 AND ALL OF THE DLC FOR IT! It's ok to rip off 90% of people though, as long as it was truly worth it to that 10%.

hmm good argument.

When i preordered, i thought it was a good idea... but i didnt know that i made one of the biggest mistakes of my life -_-

I believe that the majority of halo players agree with this. I never should have bought ODST when it first came out. I should have just bought it right before the beta for like 30 dollars.

The storyline was mediocre compared to the epic and grand scale of the halo universe

Also you can't blame the developer of the game for the price (Bungie) however you can blame the publisher. (Microsoft)
Bungie tried for $40, but wasn't allowed to.

go slit wrists ,by the way friends ar overated dont bother. Bungie is definately great company and i dout they even made halo wars the gave a sh!_t game company some info told em to make a game and coverd their logo with bungie logos. and if bungie did make it no offence meant

  • 07.19.2010 3:23 AM PDT

This is a really, really late response. But all of that is true. and they are sucking up to bungie. The game had so much potential but they fell short

  • 07.19.2010 4:56 AM PDT

Halo ODST still sucks. After the Beta, I will burn my disk. Then I will smash the little burnt plastic ball with a hammer. Then I will collect the ashes and flush them down the toilet. Halo ODST sucks badly. Epic Fail for ODST.

You should sell it wow your an idiot

  • 07.19.2010 10:58 AM PDT

Lol I bet u can't guess what my homepage is.

Great. Now quit complaining. You didn't even talk about firefight. Did you even play firefight?

  • 07.19.2010 12:04 PM PDT

Your not going to even buy halo Reach
thats a shame.... But i doubt bungie cares about
losing 1 LITTLE customer when they have millions of thousands
of other happy customers

  • 07.19.2010 12:31 PM PDT

"We are never going to fund the new unless we get a little crazy."

Im not making excuses for Bungie im just explaining, this was just meant to be a cool add-on, what would it be like to be a normal human in a more stealthy version of Halo? Well once they started that, they stuck in firefight, and the campaign got a little longer maybe than they expected, so with longer campaign and firefight, it was already looking to be something more than an add on, and then Microsoft demands they charge 60$, which means they should spice it up with Halo 3 multiplayer and some maps, in the end, what could have been a cheap little fun add on that explored different areas of the Halo universe, became an overpriced frankenstein monster that you HAD to get, and made a lot of players angry. So they are trying very hard for Reach to reedeem themselves with new abilities and feel of the game...hope it works.

  • 07.19.2010 12:36 PM PDT

is there a problem
BTW see you in Halo:Reach

OH no your wrong,ODST was a filler to keep people occupied until the beta or the actual game.Reach was NOT to redeem themselves from ODST. I know that Reach was in development befor ODST and a little time after Halo 3.

Wow...i can't believe that such illogical thinking still existed in this thread...i would've thought that this would have been locked ages ago because its just regurgitating the same crap over and over and over and over and over and over and over and...

Let me put it this way. Think of Bungie of you most favorite Music artist, now (in the case for all you haters) think of the worst song you feel was made on their latest album. Chances are you'll still like it, just not as much as the other ones.

Personally for me Bungie = Muse, and ODST (assuming i didn't like the game, which is untrue) is their Twilight single. Its not as good as alot of their stuff, but thats easy to be since their other compositions are of such high quality...and Twilight can go burn in a ditch never to be remembered for all i care.

I hope some people can understand what i mean, i tried my best to explain something that feels right in the head but odd on paper.

"Wake me . . . when the darkness fades . . ."

I have to say, I still enjoy playing ODST.

Sure, it does have its faults, and could have been longer, but it still is pretty enjoyable to play.

On nights where I'm not feeling up to matchmaking, firefight is a great alternative.

Just bump up the difficulty, add a few skulls, andhave at it.

Same with the campaign.

The thing I'm bummed about is they won't expand on it.

I'd love to play another ODST themed game . . .
