Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as they say.
I can really see for both sides of the argument in this case.
For many people, it's a good deal because they like the campaign, enjoy firefight, and/or want to strive for the full gamerscore. It's also a good deal for many because they enjoy Halo 3 and want the new maps or didn't get all of the old ones. There are also those who are new to Halo, and may not have any desire for Halo 3's campaign.
But for many others, it isn't an optimal choice because they don't really like Halo, they don't enjoy survival modes, or they don't care for achievements, campaign, or maps. I don't really agree with this point of view, but I understand it.
For me personally, ODST is great. I played my old Halo 3 until it was worn down to dust and I miss my multiplayer. I also love Firefight and the campaign. ODST is just what I needed.
