Yet, however it is Bungie's fault to continue to remain associated with Microsoft, despite the fact they are an independent developer.

They are under contract with them and own little to no property rights to Halo. Plus they are only an independent develper as you said and thus need a company to hold onto to stay alive and keep providing games.

Let's hope that if they keep producing crap like this that they don't stay alive. I am ready to pull the plug on those guys today. Correction, the day they released ODST.

I'm a dude playing a dude desguised as another dude. I hate heritics, non-logical thoughts and people who are better than I am. People tell me that they like a lot of games, but I hate them all. Whenever I play a video game, I always go crawling back to Halo 3. Never go full retard!

Why would you take the shortcuts? Why not play the game properly like everybody else and enjoy it? Don't come crying because you wanted to run through the game quickly instead of take it slow and explore and enjoy the game as it was intended. That was your own decision.

I bet you wouldn't call me that if I was in front of you prepared to stomp you into a bloody pulp. Bad man on a forum eh? Go ask Daddy for more money, you little sod!

I come to Bungie.net to talk about Halo, not read a thread about someone's opinion on a game, especially when they cry about the game admiting they played it as fast as possible, and not trying to get everything done in the game first.

  • 12.13.2009 10:32 AM PDT

Because anyone with an opinion is a troll /sarcasm. Are all Halo fanboys this mentally exhausting? It makes my skin crawl.
ODST isn't worth the money. Firefight is essentially useless unless you have friends that play it. I have tons of friends on live, and not a single one of them plays or even owns the game.
60.00$ for an expansion?
Multiplayer could have potentially saved the game...but alas Bungie failed in that respect.

Interesting Fact: Every Halo fanboy I've met calls anyone who dislikes Halo a troll. I think you should visit the Halo article on EncylcopediaDramatica to see what an ACTUAL troll is. Or 4chan.

At least some people have common sense.

However I shouldn't expect much from a website comprised of mindless fanboys...RUN by the very game they worship. To the OP...While your opinion is justified and pretty much rational, it probably wasn't the best idea to post it on this forum. Look what you're up against! Legions of basement dwelling fanboys who either call you a troll, say you're whining or that 'u suck!!1!one!'

Just bought my pre-ordered copy of ODST tonight. Picked it up at 12:22 am and quickly drove it home to play. Already had friends lined up to do 4 player co-op. $60.00 for 3 new multiplayer maps that will be free in another 2 months, and a 5 hour campaign... That doesn't sound good I thought, but then this is Halo and we have all of the previous titles and loved each one. That list includes Halo Wars... Therefore I thought that this one has to be good. Long story short, the 4 of us all agreed that this is a terrible game which is chock full of shortcuts and unpolished hogwash. I plan to take my copy back to the store when it opens for my money back! Bungie - This is not worth $60.00 - not even close. This is a crappy game and that is coming from a Halo-fanboy. You guys lost a customer tonight. I won't buy another one of your titles. I am extremely disappointed by this game.

but on a side note, its not that hard to get a 30

You Rock! I read all of your post. I totally agree with you, I too feel cheated and ripped off. I too am a halo fan and just because a game has the title "Halo" in it doesn't mean its sold gold. You are making a difference, keep up the good work! I hope Bungie looks at this thread and takes this in consideration before releasing future titles. Don't worry I got your back, add me to your friend's list and I'll teabag all these kids with you online! Lol! Everyone take off your ODST goggles. It does suck! It's okay to admit it. This way Bungie will learn from it and not make the same mistake.

  • 12.16.2009 10:39 PM PDT

as usual petty Halo fanboys attempt to bring in people's ranks as though that is somehow going to be the groundbreaker for the entire argument.
It only makes you look like an even bigger basement dwelling nerd who cares about some retarded statistic that does not apply to real life.

  • 12.17.2009 12:22 AM PDT

I don't think it sucks but it wasn't worth sixty bucks.

Opinions are opinions, but I have to agree with Skibur here, coming in here, screaming that you hated it and ranting about it is just immature.

I played Halo CE the day it came out, when I was 7. Its part of my childhood. And hence, again, agreeing with Skibur, ODST was clearly pure fan-service. I played it and was blasted with "Halo CE" goodness.

I take Skibur's assessment as correct. If you really started your Halo career with CE, ODST could potentially be the best Halo since then for you, as it is with me. Anywhere after that, disappointment is expected.

Also, I realize that people who didn't like Halo 2's single player didn't like ODST's as well. Its either the multiple perspectives or just that some people can't handle Joseph Staten's awesomeness but its an interesting tidbit nonetheless.

So please, its probably an impossible request looking at all the babies here but can we keep the...well, bring up the maturity level please? :D

Thats cuz its an expansion (yes it still is)

Bungie did only say it was a full game so they could sell it for full price, cuz money has gone to their heads

Its somewhere in the middle, in between expansion pack and Full game.

And get your facts straight. Bungie did not choose the price. They have been pushing for an expansion pack style price but Microsoft insisted.

How is this thread still alive?? And a BUNGIE dude posted in this, and didnt lock it?? WTF!!

Because they accept people's opinions. And take it like grown men. A concept a lot of people in this thread will never understand.

I make a legitimate thread on the most logical choice for the next Bond actor, and you take that away from me by creating a parody thread indirectly connecting my thread to yours.

I hope your kids have bad influences and develop bad personalities. I wish this with all my heart.

I actually liked it. Sure the streets weren't as exciting, but they has a new and quite fascinating atmosphere. Actually slowing down and appreciating as something more than just a transit hub, I absolutely love it. Just getting a friend or 2, loading up, and exploring the city, pulling off flanking maneuvers, coordinating snipers to take down an engineer, having mongoose derbies, with this huge open world, I just keep finding something new to do every time I go back. The absence of the flood was refreshing, I enjoyed the new cast of characters, and loved the new Firefight Mode and Music. Sure, the huge price prevents it from truly being popular. (do you thing Lost & the Damned, or -blam!- Tony would have been popular if they were $30-$40 each?)

But I still enjoy it. And if you're going to stop buying from Bungie because Microsoft overpriced their expansion, then I won't miss you during Reach.

I accept your opinion. I just disagree.
