ODST featured a much grittier, darker story bolstering more expansive gameplay, with a story and narrative superceeding that of most other Halo games. The character development is much greater, and the missions and level design more varied, and better structured.
Firefight is much more fun than any other Horde style mode I have played, (And I have played Horde, -blam!- Zombies, Survivor, Survival.) complete with 10 of it's own maps. Well, technically 8. But consider this.
3 new maps for Competitive + 8 maps for Firefight = 11 maps. The same ammount as Halo 3 shipped with. Add to that the fact that the competitive maps are awesome, adding a lot more flavour to the aesthetics of Halo. They are also not available to anyone who has'nt purchased ODST. The game also adds an additional playlist or two, with it's own Achievements.
So, for those of you whining. ODST brings to the table the same ammount of maps that Halo 3 did, the only difference being, the majority of them are split into a superior mode. So, why is this a bad thing? People keep saying there are only 3 new maps. There are technically 11.
In short, a Campaign which is superior in almost every fathomable way. Multiplayer with 3 new competitive maps, and a brand new mode exuding pure awesomeness, with it's own map set. How is this not worth the price?
