I don't think he did. It doesn't matter if Halo Wars wasn't an FPS. It was different gameplay. Why can't an FPS also have different gameplay? Why more of the same?
Don't get me wrong. First and foremost, I would love to see a game like Halo 1, based around skill rather than randomness. But bar that, if Bungie was thinking of "noobing up" the game like they did with 2 and 3, I would rather that just ditch the classic scheme and start from scratch with a class based FPS.
Either way I would like the campaign to be squad based (very loosely squad based like Freedom Fighters; 4 simple squad commands on the dpad) but with the same classic Halo gameplay. Maybe hot swap between the 5 squad member NPCs and use their strengths to get past a tough spot. And in Coop you choose who you want to play as.And Reach is actually more of a prologue to Halo 1. Halo Wars had entirely different characters.Who says Reach won't have entirely different characters?I don't even consider it Halo canonBut Bungie does. So you're wrong. because first human contact with the Flood wasn't supposed to be until 2552.Says who..............?
The only humans who encountered the Flood were those from the Spirit of Fire. Guess what? They're all lost in space until who knows how long. And even if they were brought back the Flood would surely have been kept under wraps by ONI; Cortana wouldn't know about them just like she didn't know about the Spartan-IIIs that ONI kept secret.
