Got up this morning to find that my system is repaired and has been just shipped out. Same system. No e-mail reporting this as of yet. Waiting for an ETA from the tracking number.

They... don't appear to offer this repair in New Zealand.

sadface. Anyone else notice that after the dashboard update, you can get to the main menu of the campaign disc but not necessarily play?

Nobody's entirely sure, although it is likely to be an issue with the console itself given MS can repair it.

I'm assuming it's a hardware problem since Microsoft is making us send our 360s in for repairs, and that many individuals have gone through multiple copies of the game, myself included, and still get the same problems.

Anyway my system comes in Monday. I'll report back on whether the problems have been fixed when I get to playing a few rounds of ODST.

Well, I got mine back in 9 days, not too bad. But I didn't get my same console back, and I felt that was a pretty decent Falcon system. The one I got may be louder, but that may just be me forgetting how loud it really was before...although it was made at nearly the same time according to my serial number. But it was previously serviced, not a new Jasper like whatever lucky people seem to have gotten. Mine also has a couple small scratches on the case so the previous owner wasn't as good with electronics as I am. I haven't touched ODST yet but my brother has and confirmed he is now able to progress past our disc read.

My girlfriend actually suggested (and helped pay for) a new MW2 LE console last week though and I'm selling my old one to my brother after I get around to transferring data from one HDD to the next.

It's the old consoles. I bought an Elite when my old 360 wouldn't play the game, and it works fine now. All I can think of is that it is the laser on certain older models. My old 'box didn't work, but my friends did. We bought them within a week of each other. Baffling, to be honest and a bit embarrassing for Microsoft I would have thought.

Mines finally got shipped yesterday. My warranty label was ripped when I tried and badly took the faceplate of, you think that will do anything? Has anyone got theirs back? Did it come with a list of what needed to be replaced, like a 3 red light? Or is it just a specific repair?

It's not just the old consoles... Some of us with newer Elites and even one of us with a Halo 3 limited Edition (how is that for irony!) console have this issue...

I bet it is a hardware problem. I checked the disc, not 1 scratch since I bought it completely new, same with disc 2. All I have to do now is try it on my friend's Xbox 360 console. Since mine was severely retarded, the fans were real loud and annoying, and one day it got RROD. Old 360 consoles suck. :( I'm gonna buy a new 360 since it has been improved and yes my old console's warranty is voided.

Approximately how long has it taken people to get their 360s back? 9-14 days?

I have a different issue I can't resolve. At the end of level 3 it keeps skipping me back to the first level of the campaign. I replaced the disc (and used the save point) and it still does this.

Any thoughts or resolutions?

I am over 3 weeks. Shipped on the 28th of October. I had to email the Microsoft Customer Advocacy section. A representative called me back the same day to tell me that he was personally working the issue and would get my console back to me ASAP. It is nice to have a name with contact number that is actually trying to help me out. My faith is starting to be restored...slowly...

well i have the same issue with DE, called MS was on the phone for 3 hours 90% of it was on hold. Then they decided i needed a repair, i told them truthfully that since my box was out of warranty I opened it up on my own to vacuum it out because it was overheating.

The dude on the phone stated that the engineers would probably not fix or correct the xbox due to tampering.

Well whatever...i'll probably save up my 3 bills to buy a new elite make sure it is a jasper and then be done with it.

The email address is advocate@microsoft.com. Type in "Executive response and Customer Advocate Team" as your subject. In the email you should give them your contact info as well as your particular situation. The customer service rep from Microsoft called me the same day that I sent the email. When I talked to him, he had already contacted the service center to tell them that they would be sending me a replacement 360 this week. Good luck!

For some reason mine works fine until the part of LOADING DONE in a level it goes really slow like there was lag, then its fine like nothing happened to now my ODST disc works fine so does my Halo 3 Mythic iam happy :D

I received my console back after it's second repair Friday and
Guess what, the same issue re-occured.

I'm beyond frustrated, ODST will not play, Halo 3 will not play.

I called M'soft support again and spoke with yet another supervisor. He assured me that this time my console would be replaced with a new system, not a refurb.

This has turned into such a fiasco. I wish I had someone to blame, but no one can give me a reasonable answer as to whats causing the issue.
