Are they charging if we are out of warranty?
I was told by two separate people on the phone that because this is an 'exceptional case', the repair is free, 'even though your xbox is out of warranty'.
However, you have to supply your own shipping box (they told me how to print a UPS label off of support.xbox.com, so the shipping is free also)
We have to send our console in? For one game? There are many other more important games I would rather be playing now and in the coming weeks than this. Then it will be gone for 2+ weeks (took me 3 weeks last time). Not to mention the time spent calling and explaining that you're disc is clean and sparkly and you've tried without a hard drive since this is one that likely can't be done online. Urk, please let us know exactly what the resolution is on here so we know whether our tech person has any idea what their doing.
I guarantee that any of hundreds of thousand Xbox owners that post on these and other forums would make better tech support because we seem to know more about what is going on than they do.
