1. This is my 2nd post in this thread, if you wish, refer to my 1st post on page 52.
2. I tried the hot water experiment. I then put the disc in and played from the beginning through to Level 3 (playing Rookie for the second time), and then I saved and quit because my Friend wanted me to try Firefight with him. I looked in Settings > System Settings > Memory > Hard Drive > Games and to my suprise there was a Halo3: ODST "folder" in there. Clicking on it, I see inside my preordering bonus content the Sergeant Johnson firefight character I downloaded after my 1st post, but prior to doing the hot water experiment. Also to my happiness I see a Save Game File whose Properties (when you click on the file) say it is the save I just created. Yay!
3. I go play Firefight with no issues, on two different maps, the first one I dunno the name of it, the second one was "Last Exit" which I know because I landed an Achievement for scoring over 200,000 Points.
4. My friend said, "this is boring" and changed to a Co-Op Campaign Lobby, which I played for about 1 minute before I realized it was spoiling the Campaign for me, so I begged to quit.
5. I went to THEATER, where I saw 5 films stored: the last 1 minute of Co-Op Campaign, 2 Firefight films, the time I spent playing levels 1 & 2 today, and one other I dont remember what it was. I tried to play a film... BAM Unreadable Disc Error.
6. I restart the game from dashboard (as URE kicks you back to there) and try the CONTINUE SOLO CAMPAIGN button, thinking it'll load my lovely saved game file, but alas, after watching the load screen for about 3 minutes, the game restarts at the point where Rookie is opening his eyes after his pod crashed! HUH???
7. I quit the game by pressing Xbox Button > Xbox Dashboard > Yes (yes I'm sure I wanna exit and lose unsaved progress). I go to Settings > System Settings > Memory > Hard Drive > Games > Halo3: ODST "folder" and NOOOOOOO my lovely Saved Game File is GONE!!!
8. A POINT WORTH MENTIONING: I have 2 Friends with discs from Puerto Rico which they report work flawlessly. Mine was Made In Mexico. Aside from a soapbox speech about how BUNGIE ought to hire AMERICANS to burn their discs, I think I am going to go trade this Mexican pedazo de mierda for Fallout 3 and look around other stores besides Game Stop for a Puerto Rican version of this game. I'm not giving up on Halo3: ODST or Bungie or Microsoft, I'm giving up on Mexican pedazos de mierda.
