I think the best solution would be, if you provide proof of your purchase online, then they should give you a code to download the full game. Kind of like their games on demand service.
This way, if you type in a certain number, like a serial number, on an online form. When you hit submit, they can give you a code that you can type in on your Xbox Live account, which then would allow you to download both discs from the internet onto your 360.
Did you post in the right thread? I don't see how this is relevant to the topic. I don't see how downloading the game from demand is going to help when the game itself still doesn't work. People have experienced DRE from the HDD, myself included, which makes no sense.
Yes but all of this could be from installing/downloading it from a faulty disc. Being able to download it would bypass the problems with the faulty disc by just getting the source files. What are you smoking? There is a huge difference between directly downloading the game from Xbox Live, than installing/downloading it from the faulty disc itself.
Read thoroughly before speaking out of turn.
EDIT:
In the end you would bypass the disc that could be faulty, and download it from Xbox Live. Rather than installing it from the disc that has the problems.
Another possibility is, you could Mail the disc to Xbox Customer Support and they could send you a Card with an activation code to download it from Xbox Live.
I'm just trying to figure out a way to not have to use the DVD Drive inside the Xbox 360.
