Bit too complex, the concept of these weapons should be easily understandable.
My Take:
The mist from the needle cannon is poisonous, and does damage to anyone passing through, and for a few seconds after leaving (though this makes it a bit too similar to the flamethrower.)
The grenade launcher should have some arc, and not do any health damage. It should only affect shields and disable vehicles. It should also have a slow draw time to discourage noob combos. It should also need to directly hit instead of having a field of effect.
Iv'e been offline for a few days, so i'm gonna respond to all the excellent ideas that the community has posted in my absence, starting with the one above.
Your take on the needler is a pretty cool alternate idea. It's simple, effective for being used as a team weapon, and not quite as contextual as the original shard launcher. In all honesty, I could see this version being added to the Haloverse, although you are correct about it being too much like the flamethrower :P About the grenade launcher, I completely agree with you that the it should launch grenades in a heavy arc, and making the draw and reload times lengthily to balance it out is very well thought out, and part of the original idea. The concept of making it affect vehicles and shields only would surely simplify it, but the concept was based on the fact that it could take down equipment as well. So how about a compromise? The shock would still be area-of-effect, but only electrocuting the floor, so jumping players would be safe, as well as airborne vehicles. Adding a one or two second delay to the emp burst would also give players time to get out of the way, as the metallic *clinck* of the grenade hitting the floor would soon become iconic, and unmistakeable for anything else. So, what do you think of my revisions, based on your response?
