I was gonna play Halo 2 and I was wondering if anyone knew any cheats, easter eggs or cool glitches.

Use the sputnik skull when you play the level, metropolis, it can be fun, watching ghosts fly up in the sky.

I guess Grumpy must be out of the office as he has not replied to this yet, so I will give it a go!

Halo 2's best aspects are the skulls. The skulls change gameplay. I am assuming you are familiar with what skulls are and what they do, if that knowledge is from H3 then things are a bit different in H2. The biggest diff in H2 is that they ONLY WORK ON LEGENDARY. You can pick them up on any difficulty level but the skull effect is only seen when playing on Legendary. The most useful skulls in H2 are:

Sputnik-which increases the force of your melee and explosions, but does not increase the damage that they do. This skull is very handy for grenade jumping, moving objects and creating larger than normal really cool explosions. Keep in mind that it works both ways, flood melees and vehicle hits are much more impactful and can send you flying.

Envy-which allows you have the Arbiter's active camo while being the MC, for a very short time. It is very handy since while playing Legendary it is helpful to not be seen at times (especially when you are getting your MC ass kicked).

Catch-virtually every marine or enemy that dies drops 2 grenades (hunters not included, nor prophets). This is alot of fun when you can kill enemies in groups, not very spread out. All of those grenades just waiting for you to toss a live one in! It is also helpful because you will need alot more grenades to take out enemies when you have certain skull combos active (more than 1 skull going at a time).

Grunt Birthday Part-is a nice visual effect, headshots with projectile weapons cause a plasma grenade explosion to erupt at the victims head. This can have dramatic consequences when you are also playing with Catch and Sputnik. I have seen chain reactions lasting over 15 seconds from the first headshot to the last dropped grenade going off. Sends bodies all over the place, a real treat! A side benefit is headshotting Miranda or Johnson for long periods of time, they sure can take a beating!

I do not bother with things like superjumping and other lame cheats, but the skulls are a blast to fart around with in different combos. If you think you can handle it, pick up the BLIND skull and play without the HUD.

All of the skull locations are on Youtube in some way shape or form. Type in the name of the skull, and Halo 2 and you should find vids on locations pretty easily.

hey, i hope i'm not too late, but i found possibly the most awesome easter egg every planted in halo 2.

On the level delta halo, there's a point in the game where you come to a huge waterfall overlooking a valley. there's several snipers down in the valley. make sure you have a male marine with you. I did this on legendary difficulty. Make sure all visible snipers are killed before you attempt to find the easter egg. Follow the ledge along the cliff to your right. Jump down, and wait for the marine. When he jumps off the cliff, assuming he doesn't hit the rock, he will scream as if he's dying. every third or fourth time, when he jumps down, he'll scream exactly like howard dean did in his iowa caucus speech. exactly. I don't know if bungie did this secretly, but i've definitely hear it. try it out. the second time i tried to do it it didn't work for me, so i'm not sure if this is the only place it can happen or what.
