Well make sure that the map is in the right folder and everything. Too see if it works, than make your own server using the same map that you can't play on and see if it works.

Maps go to the Halo CE map folder which is in the microsoft games folder, if this is where you installed Halo CE. Maps have to be unzipped/unrarred of course.
Gametypes go to your windows profile (=which you use when playing Halo) my games-->Halo CE-->savegames folder.

amd if you have the maps in your maps folder, make sure they are in .map format. if they're in .rar or .zip, they need to be extracted

By using WinZip or WinRar, depending on the file type. They are free for download. Download them, then unzip or unrar, and extract the .map file to the halo ce maps folder. Then your ready to go :).

Hey GoAt, you helped me, so im obligated to help you as much as I can.

Its been a while since ive used CE (bad experience with virus scared me away), but like people before me said, it has to be in the maps folder. Any maps you download should be unzipped. See, what I did before is download new maps to the desktop, then unzip directly from the folders and move all the files into the maps folder.

I think you can download an unzipper for both Zip and Rar from Tucows.com.

I dont know what kind of problem you have but try this first. Check that there are servers which have maps you have downloaded.
Then go in Halo CE filter and change the user created maps to no. Then look if you can find any servers using the new maps you have downloaded. If there arent any there is some problem in finding the maps. Check that you have put the maps to the right map folder just to make sure. If there are servers using the new maps then your problem is joining.

Some servers cant be joined for some reason. Some maps are classic or H2 so make sure you have the right one or both of them.
Did you but the maps to the Halo CE map folder if you did then I cant help you more.

There should have been the servers which used the maps you had. So it is bad when you didnt see the servers.
Now are you sure you have unzipped/unrarred the maps and have put them to the right folder?
If this is the case then. Sheck the shortcut file of Halo CE which you use. Open its properties and look the start in section. This should tell you where the Halo CE start and the usage of the maps. If it isnt the same place where you have put the maps, you should then find this folders map folder and put the maps there.

I know a mistake that you might have made in putting the maps in the Halo CE folder. When you go to the right place for the CE maps folder, you will see all of the normal maps like Blood Gulch, Infinty, etc. beside their name is a picture that looks like a piece of paper with a programs window on it. The new maps must look like that! The first time I did it, I placed the maps inside a new folder and put the folder in with the maps, but you have to take all the maps out of it and copy & paste it in with the others.

Now do you mean that in the Halo CE map folder there is only your new downloaded maps and not the original Halo pc maps. If this is the case your new maps are in the wrong place because there should also be the original maps.
Did you install your Halo CE to a different place than the installation first refers to (did you use browse and installed Halo CE to a different folder)?
Now if this is what you did you have to go to the folder where you installed the Halo CE and put the new maps to that folders map folder. There you should find the original maps too.
If you did download Halo CE to the microsoft games folder (original place in the installation) then you should try to move your new maps to a safe folder and reinstall the Halo CE.
