Nice, but Kurt was kidnapped since 2531 and he haven't returned to Reach.
If he will apear in Halo; Reach, it would not make sense at all.
Read Ghosts of Onyx.

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

I really doubt we will see these characters:
-Samuel: Dead when Reach Fell
-Kurt: "MIA" working on the 3rd wave of Spartan IIIs when Reach fell
-CPO Mendez: Was already gone when Reach fell

#2. Brass
-Colonel Ackerson: Was not at the battle for Reach
-Admiral Stanforth: Don't recall him being at the battle for Reach either.

#3. Crew
- The Crew of the Pillar of Autumn: I doubt we will get too much stuff on the PoA, MAYBE Keyes, that's it. Johnson WILL without a doubt make at least a Cameo.

#4. Covenant
-Prophet of Regret: Was NEVER AT REACH.
-Prophet of Truth: Was NEVER AT REACH.
-Prophet of Mercy: Was NEVER AT REACH.
-Tartarus: Was NEVER AT REACH.
-Voro Mantakree: Never fought on the surface of Reach.
-Zuka Zamamee: Never fought on the surface of Reach.
-Yayap and Gagaw: Never fought on the surface of Reach.

-#2- Campaign
#1 Perspectives
-Thel Vadam: Unlikely, he NEVER FOUGHT, he spent the whole time on his flagship.
-Sgt. Johnson: His only appearance at Reach was backup for blue team, so no again.
-Blue Team: The game will probably take place entirely on the surface of Reach.
-Any ODST: I highly doubt we will play as more than a Spartan.

#2 Game play
-Thel Vadam': No, we will not see ship to ship combat, this will have ONE perspective and that is First Person.
-Sgt. Johnson: He only fought for a short period of time with Blue Team on the space station. We won't see this.
-Blue Team: They did not fight in Covenant ships at this time. Were you at least TRYING to pay attention when you read the books?
-ODST: If they were in the game, yes, but I'd doubt we will play as them. This is definitely a Spartan game.

Like I said, these are my major disagreeing points with your post, after looking at the Canon side of things, and the fact that this game will likely begin with the Covenant fleet arriving at Reach. And only involve the ground battle of Reach itself.

No, Bungie has struggled just fitting games like Halo 2 and 3 into the disk space they have. There is no way you won't start AND end Reach in MkV armor, they just don't have the space to offer that much story in the game.

We know the beginning, and the end, this game will fill us in on everything else. The battle itself, that we missed out on in the book.

Don't expect the game to "Go through the Spartans' training as kids" and whatnot, because it wont, this game won't go through the Insurrection, or ANYTHING, all it will have, is the battle for Reach from start to finish.

It may have multiple perspectives, but don't expect more than Spartans, there will be no more than Spartans.

That's what I thought too.
I mean, I don't think Halo: Reach will be be based on the books. To me, I think it will be based on the untold side story of the Battle of Reach.
