Howdy, I was just wondering if any of you knew anything about how good or how bad Halo 2's ragdolling is going to be. A lot of new games coming out have awsome ragdolling (Psi Ops for one). Halo 1's ragdolling seemed incomplete, less dynamic. If you will notice, in Halo 1 the bodies of the fallen would only conform to the terrain after they were killed and came to a stop. Do any of you know if Halo 2 will have more dynamic ragdolling?

If this has already been discussed then I am sorry. Please point me to the thread.

So, apparantly nobody seems to know anything about Halo 2's ragdolling. Or, they simply don't care. I always thought that dynamic ragdolling was spiffy...

Ragdolling is when you kill something or move something and it conforms to the terrian. You all saw that when you killed an elite and it fell up against a wall its limbs moved so that it wouldn't be going through the wall. Its when an object molds to the ground or walls realistically.

I'll be on my own side.

i like to shoot dead bodies and watch them twitch in unnatural ways.

Indeed. Now does anyone know anything about Halo 2's ragdolling physics?

i'm pretty sure i read something about that
i'm not sure becuase i don't fully remember but i think somebody stated that they improved the death animations, because even tho that was ragdoll effects in halo 1 it also included death animation with flailing limbs and dropping from bullet wounds etc. So i wouldn't be surpised to see vastly improved death sequences

i think the best ragdoll features were in Hitman 2 (i never played Hitman Contracts) when you shoot a guy in the head with twin Ballards they compleately flip threw the air i would like it more like that i also here that the next Splinter cell (chaos thery) has an impressive ragdoll effect

In halo 2 i want to see an elite do a backflip when you melee him to death with an upercut it would just be fun to watch

I want to see arms and legs that hang down off the sides of things. I want to see an enemy's body realistically slide down a cliff face or a steep ramp. If a creatures body is hanging mostly off an edge I want the physics to work and see that body slide off the edge... dynamic...
