No.

I have a sneaking suspicion that this game is going to be MORE stylized than the other games.

I mean, the closest thing we've seen to screens of the game are banners (with really exaggerated looking characters) and the Graphic-Novelesque illustration on the back of the invitation that comes with ODST. Just have a question. Will any of you be pissed if the game looks cartoonier than it has before? I mean, I accept change, but I know for a fact that most Halo fans can't even define the word.

Major point: If the game looks different, will you all -blam!- and complain, or shut up and eat?

PS: If somehow the game DOES look stylistically bolder or different from the rest of the Halos, and you've read this thread, please *bitsch* here. No one wants to see "OMG STOOPID CARTON GAMEENM CHAENG!!!!111" threads if thy came here to disuss mechanics and story.

In the days of old, there were legends of a land long lost to time. This land was known as Ranna'Mor. Ranna'Mor was said to contain in its borders 7 warriors. These warriors had once unleashed a veritable hell upon the ancient world, until they were locked away. My name is Toriad, and I am one of those warriors. Our return is approaching. Do not run away, do not cower in fear; take solace in your final days, for that is all we can do. -Legend of Ranna'Mor

I wouldn't mind seeing a style change, but I don't think it will happen. Bungie has shown that it renders characters and environments with realistic proportions and graphics (albeit with a sci-fi twist).

The characters in the banner's don't look that stylized, and if they are, it's an early picture. The final could end up quite different. Who knows?

the halo games have always looked some what cartoony. halo graphics look somewhat like something from a saturday morning cartoon or a comic book. to me multiplayer matches are just something ripped from the mind of an 8 year old boy playing with his action figures; you have seven foot super soldiers running jumping all over the places killing all the dinosaurs and insane vehicle combat.

i would like halo: reach to be cell shaded and look like a high quality pixar film (not a dreamworks film, they suck cause they can never make something other then a movie about furry animals)

Cartoon style in reach = no sale from me.

I want it to look like ODST with a better engine and improved graphics.

Just because of an increased color pallette, this game loks kiddy? lol. Halo COULD work in cel shadig, just not with the gameplay style it has now. It just couldn't be an FPS. Maybe a TPS.

Crysis had a terrible lighting system. The only thing that saved it were the shadows baked onto the diffuse maps. If you looked at the game with no textures or normal maps, you'd be like "lulwut"

its not just color palet. its stuff like vehicles and weapon and environments that look kind of cartoony.

your retarded when it comes to computer graphics. all cel shading is is a process that makes cgi images look more like a hand drawn image. all you would have to do for a cel shaded fps would be to make characters/environments celshaded and then slap on the cell shade gun your holding

The picture on the back of the card is a representation of Legends...idiot. Halo: Reach will look amazing, I wouldn't be surprised if it's as good, if not better as CoD6. They've been working on it since 2007.

You're right, look at what happened with the transition from Halo 2 to Halo 3. Everyone complained about the new controls. And then they complained that the graphics weren't as awesome as they should be. Then they complained about the story not being as good as Halo 2. Same with Halo 1 and Halo 3. If you check out the Halo: Combat Evolved forums, you'll see how low it's gotten. Everyone in those forums just post about doing remakes of Halo 1 or why Halo 1 is better than Halo 3. So far, their best argument is that Halo 1 is what started the Halo Series which automatically makes it the best...

So yeah, when Halo: Reach comes out, you can expect a lot of complaints. But I adjust quickly to any new changes made to a Halo game. It only took me a few minutes to get used to the Halo 3 controls and Forge.

I speak the truth, and truth speaks itself.
The lies disguise what you despise.
Run. Flee and be, what you've always dreamed.
What happens now won't matter later.
What you see will not be, nor what you imagine will not happen.
The end is close, so take your dose.

I'd like it to be more realistic (as far as how the characters and environments go) rather than cartoon-y.

Yeah, I'd probably "bitsch" over it.

PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME GROUP INVITATIONS

The Halo REACH Script (post thoughts in thread)

Writing Lead of Whisper Studios. Check out Heron!

Look... I'm on bungiepedia!

The animation on the back of the Reach ticket in ODST is an ad for Halo Legends, the 7-part Halo anime series. The banner's characters aren't unrealistic, IMO.

Dude I don't care and my grammer is perfect.I used "Big", as you recall it to mak is specific."to not do...",is incorrect beause "do" is present tense/perfect(or future) when it was a past tense.

the "graphic-novelesque" illustration was the card advertising halo: legends.

Don't tell me how my brain works, kid. You don't know me. I know exactly what the -blam!- cel shading is, and I feel the look would clash with Halo's game style.

And don't -blam!- try to tell me my own damn system specs are too. I put the computer together SPECIFICALLY for High end video editing. I can Play Crysis with everything turned up to 11. Trust me. Without all the normal maps in the game and pretty little screen effects, crysis would look no better than one of the prettier ps2 games. The lighting system is the part of the graphics engine that calculates how light bounces off of object. Should be self explanatory. It's the only thing in a game engine that looks EXACTLY THE SAME no matter what the setting is. Crysis's is incrdibly simplistic compared to Halo 3's. I've done my research. Don't try to tell me otherwise.
