A man has to believe in something. I believe I'll have another beer...
Alright, here's the deal...
I have two friends that have been trying to enjoy firefight, but can not.One lives in N.C. , the other lives less than a mile from me.(Just outside STL.) When playing FF, my friend that lives close to me experiences HORRIBLE lag and framerate issues, a hybrid of the two, making it unplayable.
After numerous modem power cycles, bypassing the router, and disconnecting cpu from router, still no change.
We have also tried all different host possiblities between us three including...
1) N.C. host- 3 player FF---lag
2) STL host (me)- 3 player FF--- lag
3) Friend with lag hosts- 3 player FF---lag
4) Asked friend in N.C. to leave, I host again- 2 plyr FF--lag
5) Friend with lag hosts- 2 player FF---lag!
Also, about a week ago, in preporation for ODST, we ran through Halo 3 co-op XBL Legendary and he complained of the same framerate/ lag issues forementioned. Every other game works online perfectly, so what gives?
We both have the same isp which is Charter, and have the same speed service, yet he gets the short end of the stick and has all the problems.
I really like ODST, but we have spent more time troublesooting than slaughtering countless covenant troops. Just trying to help friend enjoy FF like he should be able to.
Any constructive feedback, ideas, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Anyone at Bungie listening?
thanks
