Subject: Halo Reach similar to Halo 1?

If Halo: Reach is supposed to be a prequel to Halo 1, does that mean that Reach will return to gameplay mechanics similar to 1 like a health bar & health packs and no dual wielding?

Stosh hates toast!

nop, well i think it will have all the features that halo 2, 3 and ODST had. (except the supressed SMG and pistol now that it is and ODST weapon, well who knows, maybe in halo reach we will find ODST and they should have their weapons..)

I AM AN MLG PRO

Well on Reach the Spartans didn't have Master Chief's shiny new armor, so they could re-do the health system altogether.

"I swear, I didn't shoot you! That bullet was in your head before I pulled the trigger..."
"Ordinarily I would tell you to stand back if you don't want to be injured. But in this case, I'll make an exception. I'm going to beat down every last one of you!" -Kenshin Himura

MC is wearing the armor he had on Reach, so the question about health packs is actually a very good one. Color me intrigued.

However, dual-wielding wasn't something that people couldn't have possibly done before Halo: CE, so I would say you can expect that to remain in the Haloverse.

humans didn't tell themselves "hey zomfg we have two hands, we should use a gun IN EACH HAND lol well win teh war" 500 years in the future, during a war they're loosing anyway. it wasn't in HCE because of limitations and the gameplay not being "wide" enough.

actually if you've ever read the book you would know that Halo 1 starts at the pretty much exact same moment the book ends so yes they did have the shiny new armor but from Halo CE.

Also since Halo CE was the best game out of the series i would have to say they better.
