Bungie, imo, has some of the most passionate and creative artists and programmers in the world. I've always wondered why they stopped with Halo 2 on the PC. Perhaps because of its less-than-miraculous turn-out. There are many many reasons that Halo 2 wasn't what it was meant to be but, none of those reasons have anything to do with he greatness of the game. There simply weren't enough people converted to vista to obtain multiplayer success on a game. It would be like releasing a game on Linux now; some people have it but not near enough for the success it would deserve.

So now i'm wondering if Bungies' powers-that-be see Halo 2 PC's failure as a primary reason to shut the door on all PC gamers. Although, I, and i would assume many more, would very much like to see Halo 3 PC and even Halo: Reach PC.

I enjoyed Halo 2 for PC primarily because the original Xbox's computing power isn't near as powerful as the typical household computer. Thus allowing the overall beauty of the game to be at a much higher threshold. The original Xbox ran Halo 2 at, what, 30-50 FPS (depending on environment). My computer runs Halo 2 in high definition at almost 90 FPS. The smoothness makes this game SO MUCH BETTER. You thought Halo 2 was great on Xbox back in the day. Well get H2 PC and plug that controller in. You are in for a treat. (except theres not many that play)

I know this post will eventually be a pointless shred of data on Bungies' immaculate servers. But, its' significance to me and other hard-core PC gamers alike may be the shread of data that could potentially boost Bungie into a, mostly, new crowd of gamers.

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

Bungie didn't create Halo 2 for the PC, Gearbox did. And if you ask me, they should do Halo 3, and ODST for the PC too. Let Bungie focus entirely on Reach and their other project.

With the XNA programming they have today, you can switch it with 3 clicks from a XNA formatted Xbox 360 game to a Microsoft Windows game.

Again, Bungie isn't Blizzard. Bungie can dominate the Xbox with Halo. I would love to see the old series be brought back to life though on PCs Only. Sorry Mac Users but Bungie is extremely close to Microsoft, It would be much harder to code it into MAC.

You kidding? Bungie ROOTS itself in Mac, why do you think they personally worked to bring Halo CE to the Mac? Bungie employees use Macs instead of PCs all the time.

I believe he meant Bungie's roots are financially in Microsoft. They use macs mostly they even jokingly mentioned it on the ODST briefing.

Aside the fact... They converted Halo 2... Why can't they hire a third party vender such as Gearbox to do the same with Halo 3?

Truthfully, the video card is the primary necessity when playing games on a computer. Laptops are designed for efficiency & typically have less powerful components than the needs for rendering a 3d environment. Basically, having 2 gigs alone will not allow games to run as they're designed.

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

PC sales are tiny in comparison with console sales, Halo:PC and Halo 2 Vista sold about a third of the copies that their xbox counterparts did. It's simply deemed not worth the effort

Its hard to release anything on the pc without it failing.
Maybe if more people payed for games instead of downloading them we would see Halo 3 on pc

Betatesters are disposable.

I'd say 2GB of ram is a little to few for a new pc. but as said, if a game is playable or not, depends on the other parts like graphics card and cpu as well.

Whatever, I own Halo 1+2 on PC, not on XBox and its a little different. Shooting enemys and so on... its easier with mouse and keyboard than with controller, so a few targeting helps would have to be disabled.
But even if the games were great, the port to PC was bad. Just like it was done in a few days.

There is a PC gaming market. Quite a large one. If there were no PC gaming market at all then there would be no games at all. Yet still to this day there are companies bigger than Bungie being more successful than Bungie with more of an audience than Bungie. The fact of the matter is that people still play PC games or they wouldn't be created. It's understandable to have typically differentiated opinions from Bungie.net users because not many PC users are here - console attracts Bungie.net's audience.

Bungie should start a PC branch that operates without Microsoft intervention (Microsoft intervention caused Halo 2 to require Vista... Halo 2 released exclusively for vista and was intended to be a method to get people to switch to Vista, although allegations from Microsoft officials deny this plausibility)

If Bungie started a PC branch and through the work of an amazing game found a crowd of devout followers, like their Halo Console franchise, the PC gaming industry's' standards would increase to the walloping standards that Bungie raises for each game they release.

I guess what I'm saying is that because I recognize and appreciate the superiority that Bungies' staff has over almost all other professional video game developers, that I feel the need, nay, 'the desire' to put as much emphasis as physically possible in the following text that so vividly expresses my opinion:

" If Bungie were a PC company... 'World' of Warcraft would have had so much competition that it would undergo a name change to the 'Small Village' of Warcraft "

Halo honestly just sucks for PC, it's just not the same. Also, I honestly believe it's easier just to have a 360, without all that system requirement crap.
