I agree with you about having the game be like CE, and I am suggesting failing shields because it adds a new experience.
Yes, I know that spartans wore Mark V, but what I am getting at is the armor is not perfect and it would take more prototypes than just Mark IV and Mark V to get every bug worked out.
Even though Halo CE, did not have this, Halo Reach is a completly different game.
Nope, Master Chief was issued THAT armor at the exact same time as every Spartan that fought on Reach, and it never had a tune up or a fix. The Armor was perfect as soon as it was given to the Spartans.
ALRIGHT JUST FORGET ABOUT THE BOOKS AND THAT EVERYTHING IS PERFECT, NOTHING IS PERFECT. The shields wont be perfect, because everything that needs power will always drain power, a spartans sheilds are no different, and they will use enough power to have unexpected faliure. Also, once again its a completly new game with new senerios and armor wont be perfect, no matter how much advanced a civilization gets there will always be flaws with technology.
And yes Master Chiefs armor was upgraded to a Mark VI in Halo 2.
Yeah, I would love to have a random game that'll be next to impossible to beat on legendary because of random shield failures. /sarcasm
No, as said, MC never changed armor between the battle of Reach and Halo, all Spartans on Reach had the same armors.
Spartan shields were developed from a Jackal Shield gauntlet. The only time they failed was when the powersupply was under to much strain, and that was when the person in the shield got shot at. How would they logically fail at one point, and the next, not fail without getting any upgrades. Also, don't forget about the books, they are a part of the story.
The powersupply is a small fusion reactor, if I recall correctly. You know how long an AAA fusion battery could light a flashlight? Like, a lifetime, and the light would be on, all the time.
As fun as it might sound to you, to me, it would just be frustrating. I bet it would be frustrating to alot of other players too.
Im not saying that the shields should fail all of the time but at times of mop up duty, when you finish a fight, or just walking. Also I should have been more specific on the idea, but the sheilds dont fail forever just a second or two.
But one thing I am failing to understand is why everyone wants to go by the book, yes I know the book told us about reach and what went on, but why would you want to play a game that you already know how the fight began and ended. To me thats lame, I am just propossing that the game be different from the book, introduce new aspects to war that would actually happen. I know the idea of failing shields isnt the best but its just an IDEA.
