boom, head shoot

so i have told my story alot of times here(maybe i should blog it next time), but back to my problem. my 360 has rrod and my gaming pc wont work. all i have is my -blam!- school-laptop. but we cant install games on it, because we arent admins :S so i have moved over halo 1's program files to my schoollaptop and i made halo combat evolved work. but now it wont work :( when i start halo, a warning pops up saying that the game did not exit correctly. i get 3 choices
1: continue anyway
2: continue in 'safe mode'
3: exit.

so if i try run halo, it closes and a little window pops up. exception, gathering exception data. then it closes and another window pops up.
its the old program doesnt work. dont send or send information.
so i have no -blam!- idea how to fix this. and im hoping anyone here can help me :)

Try Safe Mode first. If it crashes then, click "Exit" and start it up again. If it still won't work, copy down the error messages exactly.

This might be down to some incorrect settings either in your userprofile or as a result of you copying your data over (i.e. not doing a clean install).

You can either delete your userprofile or reinstall the game. I'd choose the latter as you might delete your settings/saves for no reason. But just in case you do want to do the former...

Browse to %USERPROFILE%\My Documents\My Games and delete the Halo directory.
