Subject: Should the Flood be in this game?

Or better yet, how will they incorporate the flood in this game? It's hard for me to imagine a Halo game without the transition from fighting tactical Covenant and overly aggressive and unthinking Flood.

i hate the flood.

I very much doubt the 'Flood' will be in HALO Reach. You will most liking only be killing the Covenant. Possible protecting Dr Harsely and seaching for forerunner clues that alude to Onxy, the Halo rings and the Ark.

I think the flood were fun to face. Why not there be switching perspectives like in Halo 2 between the chief and the team of spartans that is in the forerunner caves on reach.

But wouldn't you be playing Halo 1 with extra cut scenes again.

How exactly would the Flood even remotely fit into the story of the fall of Reach?

  • 09.25.2009 4:47 PM PDT

How do we know it's the fall of reach. It says halo reach not halo the fall of reach.

Your right, everyone, even I are asummung its refering the Reach. But if it isn't what is it refering to.
Also there was no other battle on reach other than its fall. Unless you count spartan training missions.

  • 09.25.2009 4:54 PM PDT

Exactly. Judging by the look of the planet, it could all take place post-glassing.

Not all of reach was glassed so this is what I've been thinking too.

Yeah, the covvie didn't glass reach stright away. They glass half the planet, cause they knew their was forerunner clues to where halo was (At the present time, only the group of covvie's at Halo 1 knew). The remaining spartans (other than 117) were hiding out with Dr Harsley in a forerunner building many many miles underground. Which the covvie were trying to get to

What? They just half-assed a planet-burning? Does that even make sense?

I'd like them to be. I know from the books that they can't be. But it'd be neat to see them in like Firefight, or a new game mode or something.

Actually it wasn't half it was just part but yes it makes sense because they like forerunner technology and they are'nt using the death star so they are capable of doing it.

In the trailer, only part of it was burnt, but that's because it just started. The books say the planet was completely glassed, and unless Bungie is really going off canon, you're wrong.

You're wrong. Reach was being glassed when the Pillar of Auttumn escaped so they assumed it was glassed. But in Ghosts of Onyx red team(I think it was red) was in the Oni facilities and in the forerunner structures below so you're wrong. Besides bungie made Halo so how could they be going off canon?

They didn't write the books. Anyway, you're right the Ghosts of Onyx was centered around the crystal, but it was found, why would you assume the Covenant just left it?

Actually, I don't care any more. This is a video game. In fact, it's not even a video game, it's a banner on a forum section. Have a nice day chatting about a non-existent, fiction-based idea of a game.

War is a conflict that decides not who is right, but who is left

flood wasnt introduced till the first halo ring found. which is Halo CE, so no flood, not possible

  • 09.25.2009 5:23 PM PDT

I don't see how they could work that into the plot, but you never know.
