Just a small suggestion: I think we should make a new rule that you are not allowed to have a link to a hate site in your signature, it pisses me off and wastes peoples time. Most hate sites say they want a better halo3 but its just a load of complaining about unfair weapons and cheaters to get fans annoyed and create flame wars.

There should also be more mod's on New Mombasa to clean up flame wars (or do mod's not bother to go there and only lock posts that have been reported to them?)

Anyway, if any ninjas or overlords think my post is a waste of time then delete it because I'll bookmark it and if I get an invalid link I'll know your reply :) If I ever act retarded then blame it on the fact that I'm 14 and ban me for a few years... hopefully I'll come back more mature...

I totally agree - even so there's still plenty of daily polls about whether superjumping is cheating, the RL is too powerful, the PP combo, and other kinds of griping right here. I really feel for the mods, they have there work cut out for them. It's annoying enough for me, and I'm really tired of all the flaming.

I'll be on my own side.

And how exactly would one implement this rule? Either, having to submit your sig for approval, or the mods going and checking every single link in every single sig. Both are an enormous waste of time, and nobody is making you click on the links. just let your cursor hover over the link a bit, and if a URL comes up that says "halo2sucks.com" then you know not to click it.

And the mods do a fine job as it is, but keep in mind that not all the mods are always on at the same time, and they dont concentrate on that one alone,(they watch this one the most), but if a mod sees a flame war, they'll most likely delete it.

Um... report feature? common sense, and honesty (honesty doesn't usually work on huge sites like this though, but there are some half-decent people)

I don't think its a major problem but on somedays in New Mombasa I see too many attention seekers and spammers with ridiculous signatures like "halo>halo2" and "[a href="http://www.halo2sucks.com"] click here and win ten dollars! [/a]" and so on, who just want to see how many people they can aggravate and make complete chaos for everyone whos trying to enjoy themselves - People like me, 5minutes ago I was at the local bookshop and brought "halo: creating a virtual world" for half price, to add to the collection: Halo:ce, Halo2(got on first day it was out for $100) and all three novels :)

g2g for tea now :( what a shame.

I think bad sigs already get reported.

Nedus is right, you don't have to click the link.

It might be possible for the mods to keep a sort of "running list" of hate sites that have been discovered throughout people's sigs - similar to when you put someone on an ignore list. If these sites are placed in someone's sig, the system will light up (just like cheating!) and alert the mods of its presence. Or maybe just prevent them from being placed in a sig at all. This being said, I'm no technology guru.

And you do have a good point, no one makes us click the links...

i think that ur rule idea is dumb. we already cant do enough leave ppl with their personal sigs. enough stuff has been taken from the fans like me already. I mean i lost my pistol then i lost my melee and now everything is just lame due nothing being totally effective.

case and point- we had an update, and the melee was great. now it takes a few more hits.

the game has changed so much id just like some consistency.

ps i hate halo 2 on live but i love the campaign.

As do lots of people... anyway, as people were saying - noone is making you click on the link. Its still there though, I don't know which side is correct :(

I have finally got halo2 back off my brothers friend!!! hoorah! But it came at a cost, when I was scooting back I dodged some stupid school girl who was playing in the gutter. I was going at a high speed and then let the scooter run along the path with my hand guiding it as I went across the grass, but I slipped and got covered in mud lol! But never mind, the game was intact and thats all I gave a damn about. When I took off my muddy clothes my mum told me about the huge mark on my back from the computer chair. I said to her "Bill Gates would be proud". :)

Its quiet common that people insult other people who are in a higher position than them... or if a game is really popular (example:halo2) they will try and bring it down because they are jealous.

- Mike

I think bungie has failed us. I mean they claim for world domination, but they still haven't bought a laser gun that will kill all those who spam there forums, I mean whats going on here. Does bungie really love us?

  • 06.28.2005 4:30 PM PDT

I'll be on my own side.

nobody is gonna waste time reporting sigs. unless there were, like, some soccer moms here or something, people who actually take the time to report little things like that. besides, its not like you have to click links to have a good time. most links are for that person's group, or a clan or their best game stats(which is usually a game where that person got a killtacular;nothing very exciting). Don't sweat the small stuff. Avoid flame wars, and Zanzibar. That's where most of the idiots seem to gather. The Septagon is clean, with intelligent posters. Just enjoy yourself talkin about Bungie and Halo.

The Shishka Hate Clubs usually are composed of people who joined very recently, hinting at the fact that they were banned before. I've seen him get aggravated, and it's not pretty, but the few times he replied to any of my posts, i had no problems.

No offense to the thread creator, but while I respect the thought, I really think that there are many more pressing issues that need to be followed up on before this one. It's a problem, yeah, but only a minor one.

I would disagree with that statement if the halo2sucks crowd weren't dicks. But alas, that's the equivalent of having a yellow-jacket that won't try to sting things.

Yeah I don't want people to know such -blam!- exists and they are not doing anything for a better halo3 they're just complaining about xbl and unfair weapons/cheaters/lag.

Q: What do toddlers and halo2 haters have in common?
A: They both throw tantrums until they discover no one gives a -blam!-

Opinion: Halo2 is a noob game.
Fact: Halo2 is one of the most successful games on xbox ever.

Halo haters are stupid, Halo haters that use b.net are REALLY stupid. -blam!-ing will get you nowhere, get rid of the game and get over yourself.

Hummm.

Moving on from that. I think you need to relise that people on this forum are welcome to there opinion. There is no rule keeping Halo 2 hate sites out for the same reason that mods don't go deleating every "OMG T3H HAL0 2 EST LE CR4P" threads. Here's a couple of questions to ask yourself quickly:

- What defines a halo 2 hate site?
- How much time need to be diverted from other bungie.net projects to get an blanced rule made to cover this?
- If the Bungie.net admin put a ban on hate links whats to say that we should not delete your signature?

Take a good look at those and draw your conclusions.

About opinion: I say its ok to like something and support it (like I do because halo:ce and halo2 kick asse) and also say "man halo2 is koo' I wish they removed the brutes because its turning the game into planet of the apes" (as in, you like the game but theres a few things that you don't like, but you don't really care)

But to hate something and not really have a point for example, if you brought halo2 thinking it would suit 100% of the customers then found you were wrong and then -blam!- about it because you were one of the people that it didn't suit or you listened to all the hype and were gullible to believe it then flame the boards just because you didn't get what you expected or thought Bungie promised all this random crap which they didn't. Then get over yourself we're not making you play it so shut-the-hell-up... I guess some people just don't like it and others think its fun to be different and hate something that everybody else likes... As for me, I like it so I'll stay here and give my most honest opinion about the game.

I've actually had to put a disclaimer on my Worst halo2 player signiture i mean its a simple trick and some people even flame when they dont have a gamertag linked. Now if i get a flaming pm i can say you should have read the disclaimer before clicking.

Anyone think a few new boards would be of use? Maybe one you have to be signed up for about 6months+ to be able to use or a "-blam!-ing forum" so we can use Zanzibar again or a "I lost rank because of a cheat" forum and if anyone posts about cheaters in the Underground then we move their post.

Its ashame most halo2 haters just want to cause trouble like a preschooler, they should get over it and leave and if they want a halo3 with no 'noobed up' weapons then maybe they should stop -blam!-ing so enough people buy h2 so Bungie at least has the funding... but thats already been done.

I commonly see some smart-asse who says "well, explain this: there are 100,000 people who don't like halo2" and I tell them "shut your ugly face, thats merely under 2 percent!!!"
