I ask that you read all of the supporting evidence, and if you disagree, please post a reason why, I will be happy to try and provide a counter.
I've seen post after post after post about this wild theory that when the ship split, that it went back in time (somehow) and ended up at Reach. What's wrong with this? let's see shall we?
1)There would be no reason for this, as chief was at Reach shortly after it's falling to aid other spartans.
2)the planet there is clearly NOT REACH. If anything it looks like the shield planet Onyx. Sure they used similar camera angles, but that's because it's a very nice, effective angle, and worked quite well for Reach because or its trailer, and well for halo 3 cuz it was suspenseful.
3)That would make it after halo 3, though technically before it still, it wouldn't make any sense.
4)HOW DO YOU PEOPLE GET TIME TRAVEL OUT OF THIS?!?! The ship was split, causing chief to drift, not time travel, drift, to a nearby planet similar to forerunner-like structure, AKA Onyx.
5)If they started putting time travel in Halo, i twould somewhat ruin the whole feel of Halo wouldn't it? I mean come on, time travel? seriously? No, they wouldn't pull a bull move like that.
