this is an awesome post. It shows the illogicalness of balancing weapons and bungie's boner for the bland

Anarchist leaders rule

Solution: At the Fall of Reach, the humans decided to load all of their best weapon prototypes and experimental indestructible vehicles onto one ship, The Pillar of Autumn, which they promptly sent into deep space. This ship of perpetual awesomeness was then led to a big metal ring by a translucent glowing purple girl, because everyone knows that girls like big shiny things. Unfortunately, she left the Slipspace gate open, letting all the Covenent through. This same glowing purple girl then shrunk to microscopic levels to take over a random green Spartan's brain, forcing him to blow up the ship of perpetual awesomeness in order to prevent the Covenant from having the metal ring, because if she couldn't have it, no one could. The combined awesomeness of nuclear pistols and indestructible warthogs exploding contained just enough energy to blow up the big metal ring.

So, a year later, when the humans found another ring, they were unable to blow it up because all of their awesome weapons had already been destroyed. Otherwise they could have just blown up a regular frigate on the second ring's surface... But of course that would never work.

Thus the stupidity of Halo weapon's technologies is somewhat explained.

Dark Neptune, a young amateur astronomer whose gaming life is no different from other teenagers of his age, though he controls it more strictly then others.

Is the OP going to be updated with the sandbox Reach haz?

Coz someone forgot we got a 1-shot kill weapon (Beam Rifle, aim for the head) replaced by a "It takes a Century to kill" weapon. (Focus Rifle)

*Continues laughing hard at the OP*

Probably not. Though I might expand it to include more than just weapons. If I get into the mood, I'll write up a continuation post and link it in the OP.

Who cares!? Thats the point! When I read this I LOL-ed for several minutes even though none of it was true and I am usually critising things that aren't accurate.

All of the toils and hardships and labors of our ancestors produced us. We are their greatest creations; we are humanity's finest products. Mass production seems to have made an impact on quality though...

Hornets, a slower moving, hard to operate vehicle that was only semi-competent at killing infantry units.have you even used one

And the M6D and M6C/S can't do crap on Covenant shields. The BR can, however. The UNSC couldn't go without having a weapon that has at least a little chance at killing an elite.

And the Halo 1 weapons weren't the original weapon set or anything. They were just what was given to the Marines aboard a Joke-class cruiser.

if the Halo 1 pistol that was given aboard a joke class cruiser was better than the other "standard" pistols, then that just says a lot. Original AR was beast too.

great thread though; gave me a laugh

I'd like the "joke" class cruiser considering it survived its crash landing almost intact after escaping from reach and fighting covey ships above halo. Plus it has an awesome feature that allows you to blow a huge crater into planets or ring worlds by turning its reactors into a bomb. Then the fact that it was equipped with the latest and greatest MAC gun at the time. And finally its reactor gained more juice the more you used it. So next time i see a joke class cruiser at the used spaceship dealer imma get one.

In the real world it is illogical to balance weapons as you want to be superior to you opponent... This is why halo tech is nerfed in the games(in the books suddenly everything becomes unerfed and more deadly than modern weapons)
