Subject: Halo 3 ending and Reach opening same thing. NO!!!!

Everyone in the forums keep saying that the ending of halo 3 is a time warp that brings mc back to the fall of reach. However i think this is ridiculous in three ways. One: This would change halo's storyline to a cheap three year old fascination that bungie would not and should not go for. Second: When the trailer said "From the beggining, you know the end," just means that you know reach is gonna "fall" or get glassed at the end of the game, hence the beginning of combat evolved, where you jump from reach to halo, and you are the last spartan. Third: At the beggining of combat evolved you are a frozen master chief, who never set foot on the ground of reach, and at the end of halo 3, you freeze yourself again, and cortana would not be able to thaw you out in time if a covenant outbreak occured. so even if the time warp did happen, spartan 117 would still not ever touch reach or its storyline.

There is no warping. Im geussing at the end of the game you are a surviving spartan who survived on the glassed planet and you meet up with cheif and the ending of the series is revealed there. I understand the spartan will be waiting for a long time, but I hear they can live without food for a while.

ummmmmmm... i understand that there is no time warp, but what were you trying to say...

  • 09.27.2009 4:31 PM PDT

Meh

But but but there's a planet in the Reach teaser and there's another planet in Halo 3 legendary ending...it can't be a co-incidence!

I don't think it's the same planet

reach wasnt blown up, but no one survived. It may or may not be Reach, but even if it is no one is going to be there.

That is where i must disagree with you.
The covenant left a small band untouched near the equator.
They were looking for a specific item.
And quite a few survived.

No one can be still alive on Reach, remember Covenant make no prisonner. MC saved his friend, Halsey, Whitcomb (ok he died after) etc... but there is nobody else.

technically you are wrong i still see well over 5 spartans whenever i play big team slayer. and there are millions of other games going on at the same time. so there are a bunch of spartans they are jsut taking break from campaign to play some xbox live.

The fight has been complete.... now get the cookies!

While we certainly share your enthusiasm for the return, we here at the Bungie.net community are mostly made up of snarky asses and jerks who will ridicule you for making a thread about something revealed months ago. We regret that your innocent intentions will almost certainly be replied with anger and sarcasm, and politely invite you to don your Flame-suit, because you just did the internet equivalent of jumping up the Construct lifts.

MC was on Reach. He went in the cryo tube when he ESCAPED from it.

Ok well besides all this look at my thread that shows that the Halo 3 Legnedary Ending Planet is Forerunner and in no way can be Reach. The truth about he Halo 3 Legendary Ending!

John was never "on" Reach try a different preposition dude. John was at Reach but he was in space, leading the mission to destroy the information aboard a UNSC ship that didn't get its NAV data erased. This mission was key so as to stop the Covenant from finding Earth. After the mission was completed John returned to the Pillar of Autumn and they hightailed it out of there. Following the Cole Protocol they had to jump to a random coordinate before they could jump to Earth. But instead of generating a random coordinate Cortana used the data retrieved from Sigma Octanus IV, the data being Forerunner glyphs, to jump to a point in space where the stars matched the glyphs. This was incredibly intelligent due to the fact that the Forerunners glyphs are based off of constellations and star groups. The glyphs by complete luck lead them to the first Halo. But yeah get your prepositions right.

Even if quite a few survived the planet is uninhabitable as *cough cough* it was very obviously glassed.

  • 09.27.2009 5:31 PM PDT

Why would they freeze master chief for a total of ten minutes between when they jumped from reach to halo...
