bah

There should be a rule: No person can bump their own post. If your post isn't on the front page, it is gone for a reason. Maybe there was a lot of activity and it got kicked, in which case it will probably come back when someone makes it back to page 2. The other case is that no one liked your topic and therefore didn't post on it. If that was the case, bumping won't do anything but annoy people. This should be in the FAQ/Forum Rules. (Maybe it is, I should check.)

Well, I thought up another way to keep it up in the standings, it could be made a sticky. Why, I feel like a genuine genious.

bah

Do you understand the irony here? I bumped a post to prove my point. Ironic, huh? Either I'm being ironic to prove a point, or I'm a hypocrite.
And there are only two kinds of people I hate in this world, hypocrites, and people who hate people. <-Ironic, huh?

So much for leading by example.

bah

But irony is a good way to prove a point. It makes others see what they're doing, so they stop. If I bumped this post for a week, which I could do but wouldn't, people would be highly annoyed at me, thus realizing how annoyed I am at them. The end result is no more bumping. But that is niether here nor there. My point is, stop bumping.

The sad part is a majority of this forum is just a bunch of children posting the same nonsense over and over again, bumbing the reasonable threads to the back of the line. That being said, I have yet to "bump" my thread, but shouldn't there be separate forums for people who are serious about discussing the game and for the 14-year-old-Wolfenstein players who think the Forerunner is a new vehicle in the sequel. Maybe you could put a word in for me about this with the higher ups Shishka...

...Right. And my point was that you're not setting a good example by acting cocky. So, perhaps you should stop trying to prove your points by doing exactly what you don't want done.

If you can't set a good example for the other members of the community, then please leave the moderating to the moderators.

Well, I'm new to these parts. I'm from the Xbox forums. Anywho, when I'm at the Xbox forums, I will post a new topic (only when I feel necessary, which is very few times), but sometimes my topic gets pushed back and I have by the people who feel they must constantly make a new topic. And then I know that is the reason no one replied to my to my topic. It wasn't because it was uninteresting. It was because of the MILLIONS of new topics that pushed it back! If you fell to the bottom of the ocen, no one would see you nor save you. So in order to be seen, you have to swim (bump) to the top.

Now if there are people bumping for the heck of it, I can understand. But I see nothing wrong with bumping if your question or something didn't get answered. Just be sure to check the viewer count.

And oh, while Shishka is replying to this thread, perhaps you wouldf like to read my thread (without me having to bump)...

I'm locking this thread now because complaints about the bungie.net system belong on the septagon. There are also better ways to prove your point. Like providing examples of how people are bumping their topics excessively.
