In my opinion, Halo 3 did not show off your characters in team games online. They replaced both your primary and secondary colors with the ugly bright blue and bright red (looks very kiddish in my opinion)

I would like to see more differences between players online.
Secondary color should definatly be kept, no matter what color your team is.

Primary color could even stay the same, if they added some other differences between teams, such as one team having blue lights on their helmets, and the other having red (similar to the spec ops Jackal's helmet lights).

Anyone else like the idea of less forced color options for multiplayer?

I always felt the giant blue arrows over your friends heads was enough to convey that one should not shoot at them so I have no problem with your suggestion...

My thoughts exactly.
If they really wanted to match a armor color, use secondary or tertiary (detail).

Were it so easy.

No lights, but rather just use waypoints.

Bungie should implement the "Team Spelling" and "Team Grammar" hoppers immediately. You'd never make it above a 20 unless you got carried.

This. Every custom game I've made, ever, I either take off the arrows, or leave them and make everyone Black.

Sometimes, I'll take them off AND make everyone Black. The green reticule is enough for me.

In the days of old, there were legends of a land long lost to time. This land was known as Ranna'Mor. Ranna'Mor was said to contain in its borders 7 warriors. These warriors had once unleashed a veritable hell upon the ancient world, until they were locked away. My name is Toriad, and I am one of those warriors. Our return is approaching. Do not run away, do not cower in fear; take solace in your final days, for that is all we can do. -Legend of Ranna'Mor

I disagree. I like the red vs blue idea. It conveys the felling of two armies fighting each other. Perhaps keeping the secondary color wouldn't be so bad, but the primary should be switch for each team.

Mind, body and soul, possibly my sole properties

What if you made three characters. One for FFA games, one for blue team, and one for red team. Blue team characters could only choose x colors, and red team can only choose x colors, and your FFA character can be whatever you want.

And you don't think that two different teams of spartans fighting alongside elites in a random canyon, fighting for two bases, or mtrying to hold a skull for a long time, or trying to control a hill........THIS IS A GAME.
