Subject: Hunters need to appear more often

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

One of my disapointments with the previous Halo games is the lack of Hunters appearing in the games campaign mode. In Halo 1 they were in a sense minibosses, that was untill you discovered that one pistol shot to the back would kill them.

But with Halo 2, Halo 3, and even ODST Bungie has vastly underused the Hunters, I would argue that well over 50% of Hunter encounters were in Halo 1's campaign mode.

It's time Bungie to make good use of the Hunters this time in Halo: Reach. Don't just throw them in a section where you have a Tank or a Rocket Luancher like in Halo 3.

Anyone else agree?

How to spell "space"?

S-P-ACE! SPACE!

The Hunters are extremely underused, and not tough enough.
In The Silent Cartographer, pairs appeared at least 4 times, and you didn't always have rockets :D

Hunters are a rarity on the battlefield. You only need two per group.

Perception is everything.

I agree, but I'd also have to say that in ODST, the first time I saw hunters...I about crapped myself.

Thats why I wanna see more Hunters used in Halo: Reach. I want more "Oh -blam!-" moments in the camapaign like that.

I remember getting owned by the first Hunter pair in Halo 1's camapign mode in Truth and Reconciliation. In Halo 3 I was like "wow Hunters", and just owned them with a Rocket Launcher.

52,000 kills in Halo 2 and more legendary playthroughs in CE than you can imagine. I am truly a God.

No matter what scars you bear; Whatever uniform you wear; You can fight like a Krogan, run like a leopard; But you'll never be better than Commander Shepard!

This is often why I play Halo: CE. Just to cause trouble with hunters :D

Bungie should implement the "Team Spelling" and "Team Grammar" hoppers immediately. You'd never make it above a 20 unless you got carried.

They should be as tough normally as they are with Tilt and Mythic on Legendary.

I'd like the neck weak area to be a one shot kill, and the back to have a smaller area. Not being able to shoot off the plating would be nice, too.

I'd like there melee's to be less telegraphed, and more dangerous, by not pushing you back out of melee range.

I'd like the last Hunter, after you've killed his friend, to go berserk and try to smash you into the ground.

Posting on bungie.net should require that the user has had to have read a chapter book all the way through.

Hunters arn't the hard to beat though. You just need to get close and sidestep them when they attack and shoot them over and over. It gets repetitive.

I would like more hunters, if they were much smarter and could shoot better. Their shots are way too slow.

Give them a Spartan Laser type fuel rod. You can see it charging for a couple of seconds, then it fires. Maybe the same speed as a tank shot.

The new hunters in ODST are bad ass idk if they are the same ones in halo 3 but these guys are much more offensive.

I liked the hunter dynamic in ODST. In which one has a classic Halo 1 fuel rod gun and the other the Halo 2/3 stream. Very nice!

They could pull off some pretty sweet looking cutscenes and survival gameplay with more and tougher hunters. Agreed.

No, they need to appear less often, in pairs at all times, they have to be the same color, and make them harder to kill already.

I'm a tiny ODST on Legendary and I can still kill 2 hunters. Make fighting hunters memorable, make it so people start putting their clips of hunter fights in their file shares.

Hunters appear to much, and die to fast.

  • 09.29.2009 1:35 AM PDT

I think there should not be stronger and smarter hunters. but there should be hunter children which are smaller and faster and they appear as often as beam rifle jackals. and hunters should appear more ofter but not overdone.

Hunters appear to much

not counting vehicle sequences... how many times I fight hunters in H3? maybe once. yea, they're SO common.

if only the hunters were at least smart! one could stay in front of his buddy and protect him constantly with his shield, and none move, they just fire as much as they can at you and rotate when you try to flank them. you'd need teamwork to get rid of them, or heavy weapons.

Every single grunt should be replaced by a hunter. that's a challenge ;P
