Wow, this is very interesting. I don't think Infinity Ward puts this kind of thought into their games. xD

wow thats pretty cool

I was doing my homework five minutes ago and I read reminded me of this thread:

Interesting Information: The Griffin is a mythical monster with the head and wings of an eagle and the lower body of a lion. In Dante's Inferno, the chariot of the church is pulled by a griffin.

I'm like "OMG it's the thread about the circles and stuff!"

No need to worry about the world ending today... its already tomorrow in Australia!

I didn't really take the time to read all 300-something posts... but from what I've gathered myself. Everything that has been stated in the first two pages of posts I've had the patience to read, is entirely accurate. So far, as previously stated, this explains a lot of the storyline in connection with Dante's work.

I'm not sure if this was brought up or not, but it also explains why each circle contained only three arcs... when they reached circle nine, it contained six arcs. Now I realize that this was done with the intention of keeping the nine circles.

Anyhoo, a brief applause and small pat on the back go to you sir for finding this correlation and bringing it to all of our attention. Extremely interesting information.

The whole Halo series has got things that remind me of the Bible, and if anyone else hasn't noticed, then you're blind.

I think I may have found something. Each of the covie races seems to represent one of the 7 deadly sins

Elites are Hubris (pride). it is noted many times that they are a very proud race

Brutes are Wraith (anger). I really shoulden't have to explain this one.

Jackals are Avarice (greed). before joining the covenant, jackels were primarily pirates, and it has been noted yhat they are more like killers for hire than true followers of the covenant

SPOLIERS Prophtes are Envy (can also be treachery,as this used to be one of the 7) they despratly want to follow in the forefunners footsteps and tricks the entire covenant to keep the facade of a "great journy" END SPOILERS

Grunts are Sloth ( and acedia and despair but they wwere rgrouped into sloth) they are pften seen dozing off, and a genral feeling of apathy towards combat

Hunters are Gluttony. the cause of the hunters forced joining was caused by the discovery that they had consumed the thousands of forerunner artifacts, also, the demon that reprsents gluttony is Beelzebub, whose name means "lord of the flies", and lekgolo (the worms that make up hunters) look like gaint, orange fly larvae

Drones are Lust. drone's are said to have a queen like modern ants, bees, termites etc, this means that most, if not all frones are childern of this one drone

Engineers are not included due to many reasons, but can be said to be a more begin form of lust, as they show a general love of mechanics and other life.

If anybody reads this, I think I might have figured out that *SPOILERS* the level "Coastal Highway", is really representing the Highway to Hell. And the Rookie, Dare, Buck, and Vergil are the 4 horsemen. It makes sense because later when you see the Covie carrier glassing the city, its the representation of the appocalipse!!! I think that Buck is the horseman of War, because he is listed as being in Reach to Harvest. Vergil is the horseman of Conquest carring the scales, because Engineers want to be equal to the Covies, going back to the scales. Dare is the horseman of Famine, because she mentioned before when you were rescuing her that she was low on ammo. And that makes the Rookie the horseman of Death, because he discovers the "deaths", or fates, of his squadmates. Tell me if you agree on this.

My friends call me D Bo.

Biggest ... find ... ever!

Here's some info to the OP!

I was reading the circles, and it said in the "Gluttony" part, that Sadie tried to transport Jona in a Garbage truck. Earlier today, i posted in a thread about Garbage trucks. The person who posted it said
I was exploring on New Mombasa streets when I came along a Plaza with like 5 or 6 Broken elephant garbage trucks. I kept exploring and found won that was in perfect condition and It had cockpit lights on. I tried to get on it and I could'nt. Any thoughts?

Could the garbage truck he was referring to be this one?

The thread i referred to is here: http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=37698445&p ostRepeater1-p=1#37698678

Non Nobis Nascimur - We are not born for ourselves.

The OP mentioned the devil has three heads that chews on the three greatest betrayers. I know somebody said that there are three Brutes in front of Vergil's door, but what wasn't mentioned was that there are three notable things in the SI data center, Dare, Vergil, and the Engineer. Dare betrayed her squad by changing course and not infiltrating the Covenant cruiser. The Engineer betrayed the Covenant. I'm not sure about Vergil, but I guess you can say he betrayed Kinsler if you listened to the audio logs.

I have been reading this thread and i am just amazed that bungie would do something like this. Three days ago, our class just started studying the Divine Comedy and i am just amazed at all of the similarities between the book and the game.
