Maybe each of the 9 circles of audio logs each represent their circle?

I can already think of gluttony and lust off the top of my head.

Thanks for bringing this up, we need to just double check to make sure that each "Circle" of audio logs corresponds to the sin of that particular circle of Hell, which I already know it does.

I already had a passing thought of the connection to The Divine Comedy, however, that never even occurred to me as being a connection as well. Probably because I'm not done finding them yet....

Were it so easy.

I hope this turns into the next secret of sand trap. Look for clues in the words on walls maybe? I heard that behind elite bodies there are he words believe, that could also be related to having faith in God maybe?

I'd rather not turn this into a religious discussion, if you please, gentlemen. I know those are frowned upon. And I think that Bungie is looking more at the epic story rather than the religious aspect of it all, since the Divine Comedy was essentially a political statement, rather than a religious one.

are you aware of a decent ebook link to Divine. I tried renting it from my uni library but they are all analysis of the text. a graphic novel of the story would look amazing, i guess we just have to wait until EA release the game version to see a visual interpretation of the story

OP, you mentioned that Satan has 3 heads that chew on the 3 greatest betrayers? And that the brutes were coming to "chew" on Vergil?

How appropriate that there were 3 of them knocking on his door.

Kickass! How sure are you? I've only played the campaign through once.

Well its not a bad thing, I mean why deny it, its very convincing that Halo 3 has many clues that portray a biblical meaning. I'm just trying to go more in-depth and see if there is any more to this, we shouldn't just focus on the divine comedy, you covered a vast majority of it, I'm sure.

"Feet first into Hell", ring any bells?

Nice find, OP.

I'm pretty much 100% sure. There's two at the doorway trying taunting Vergil, and a Chieftain behind them.

Were it so easy.

There is also on the mombasa streets at some point in the game, 3 brutes harassing an Engineer.

"You Know the music, time to dance"

Nice work Bungie, somtetimes the best games/movioes are collabrations or influenced by books.

Nice detective work.

Going to play it again from the start in a bit.

They were strapping a bomb to it's back, I believe.
But I suppose they could be the "three heads" you guys were referring to.

Hehe, they were coming after 3 people too. Dare, the Rookie, and the Engineer.

More reasons to have a creepy man-crush on Staten (and the company that assisted with Sadie's story).

My thoughts on the circles? (Hell and the Audiologs)
1 - No idea (Unbaptized People and Pagans)
2 - Kinsler (Lust)
3 - Jonas (Gluttons)
4 - Tom (Wasted Money?)
5 - Marshall? (rage, perhaps we should send all the 9 year olds from Halo 3 MM here? XD)
6 - Not sure (Heretics)
7 - Not sure either (Violence)
8 - Kinsler about Sadie's Father? (Frauds)
9 - Virgil (Betrayal)

Let me know what you think

Wow nice connections, I always thought it was strange that they called the audio logs "circles".

Looks good so far. I'll have to listen to the logs myself when I have a chance.

Are you sure you have no idea? Think of the entire city, prior to the Covenant attack. Innocence in abundance, people going about their daily lives, but always in a rush, or seemingly angry. (though unbaptized would be the opposite of innocence... Hm)

Now, you mention Violence. Well, that happens a lot in Sadie's story... ;) Almost a background noise. What about the crazy police officer killing his buddies?

I used Marshall in rage. If violence was Circle 9 I would definitely refer it to Kinsler's death. That was brutal...
