Me. I'm special. I love me. - Me

Whenever I start up Halo 2 I can play for 2-5 minutes and then my screen gets a weird field of static over it then the screen goes black but I can still here sound. I've seen plenty of people with this problem but no one here seems to have it.
I tried everything Caboose Omally recommended too, no good.

P.S. My hardware specs are well over Halo 2's recommendations.

Hello! I'm a male!

clear the computer cache try to repair the game files maybe they are damaged. Maybe a computer component is failing on ur computer. You'll have to run a diagnostics check for that and those can take forever.

I'll try that, but I don't think that's it because I just got a new computer. Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

What video card/chip do you have? If it's Intel, that could be your trouble.

Daodan Latency at 65%

What are your computer specs, could you post them?

This is the average H2 Fanboy.
Xfire: JacobGRocks.
50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

Check your GPU. Dont use IGPs (slow gpus on the motherboard.) Also, check to be sure you arent overclocking it too much and also check to be sure it is getting clear cooling, as GPUs can generate more heat than the CPU usually does. Because those symptopms sound like GPU Failure.

Oh, and NEVER use intel gpus, they fail at gaming.

Still nothing has helped.
My computer specs are:
Nvidia 8800 geforce (times 2 because I have sli)
EVGA nForce 750i SLI mainboard
intel 3.16 ghz dual core
4 gb ram
I would really like some help, is there any hardware problems I would have that could conflict with Halo 2?
I'm running the game in Windows 7, don't assume that's the problem though, because I had the same problem on Vista.
Please help!

try downgrading the drivers for your graphics card(s).

I'll try that, though I've done it a million times already.
I think it must be a issue specifically with my computer. I installed it on another one and it works fine.
Don't let this thread die please, I really want some help.
