Plekpedia - The most epic site in the history of ever.

Whatever you heard, is probably a lie. We know NOTHING besides the fact that it is a prequel, and that it is an FPS.

If it's like ODST and that they've worked on it for over 3 years, then it's a huge dissapointment. If it's more like Halo 3 then it's perfect for me.

Signatures are for squares.

1. This is a prequel
2. This is bungie's biggest game, ever.
3. It's running on a complete new game engine (IE: Not Halo 3's)
4. The game is confirmed to feature Spartans. (IE: NOT ODSTS)
5. The game has squads, without the baggage of squad based combat
6. It follows the battle of Reach.
7. It's confirmed to be an FPS
8. It should be released around this time next year.

how is recently hearing the name of a game and the confirmation of it being a first person shooter making it a another odst game?
if you liked the first halo then you should like odst. health system, scoped pistol, speed, jumping, and vehicle combat all very similar to halo ce.

how is it hard to get excited about a squad based game. you probably never played one.

I have, and if this it TOO squad based then I probably won't get it. Give me something that's more like Halo 3 and I'm good. If it's like halo CE then it's ok too. But I think we should all relax and wait for more information.

ive played a squad based game called rainbow 6: vegas. its a pretty good game. but spartan squad based game would be so much different then a game about counter terrorist. it would be interesting to see how all of these spartans would work together to kick the covenants ass

In the days of old, there were legends of a land long lost to time. This land was known as Ranna'Mor. Ranna'Mor was said to contain in its borders 7 warriors. These warriors had once unleashed a veritable hell upon the ancient world, until they were locked away. My name is Toriad, and I am one of those warriors. Our return is approaching. Do not run away, do not cower in fear; take solace in your final days, for that is all we can do. -Legend of Ranna'Mor

Based on that its a prequel and contains some of the same characters, isnt it almost safe to assume is will be ODST based?
We don't know what characters may or may not return/appear in Reach. Much has been implied, little confirmed. Reach was in development before ODST, and by a separate team. Based on what we know, it's got Spartans, is an FPS, and chronicles the battle for Reach.

as many have said we dont know if it will be anather ODST game or not. But i dont think bungie will make reach a ODST game when the spartans were the main characters in Reach

I'm guessing its going to be a blend of Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST style campaign. Open world, but not neccesarily confined to one area nor is it detective flashback like.

Imagine that you and your spartans need to take out an anti air gun at the other end of a valley that you just dropped into. You aren't going to follow a narrow series of canyons, cliffs, walkways, and such like you would in Halo 3 to get to your objective. The map is much bigger, the enemies patrol around, and there are multiple optional paths and things to do that will change how the mission turns out.

If you take more than 20 minutes to complete your primary objective after your first encounter with an enemy, Covenant reinforcements arrive to buff up defense and will make the final battle much much harder.

As you rush towards your objective, you might hear a distress call from some marines trapped inside of a bunker. If you go and rescue them, you get a warthog and some marines which will aid you in your push to get to the turret, but it takes up valuable time that you might need.

You might see a covenant ammo depot. Its well defended, you might lose some marines, but if you take it over you have access to some wraiths and fuel rod cannons. If you don't, you might see those weapons turned against you in the final battle.

Stuff like that.
