Subject: If firefight makes a comeback in Reach, what would you like to see?

Firefight has went down really well in ODST and with any luck there will be another Firefight mode for Reach.

Here's my list for what I'd like to see
-Matchmaking for when your mates are offline
-Arrival(maybe respawning as an option) by drop pods(I was really hoping they'd put it in ODST but they didn't)
-The missing enemies (elites,flood(don't know how well they would work with only 4 with respawns to infect but they should at least be an option),sentinels) and vehicles (Scorpion, Hornet, Banshee and Mongoose)
-Scarabs on the bigger maps
-Random skulls order (I've played a fair bit of firefight now but I still haven't used the last skulls)
-Choose whether to play as Spartans or ODST
-The ability to use the regular multiplayer maps and forge maps
-Custom games (decide which enemies you play and what weapons they'll have (just so I can give a bugger a Brute Hammer and see what happens), duel wielding etc on or off)
-Medals that fit a survival game a bit more ( The best players die less in firefight so they wont get as many killing sprees/ untouchables)
-I'd like to see some more varied maps, 1 or 2 close quarters ones, a few more vehicle maps and defintely some with their own backstory that I haven't seen in the campaign.

Other peoples-
- Mid game joining and a higher player limit are both good ideas
- Now that I think about it, the quitting problem gets on my nerves as well (can Bungies patch this for ODST?).

Pretty much the same things you said except Respawning in Drop Pods. It would be nice to start in a Drop Pod but respawning? Nah.

Playing as a Spartan in FireFight? That would be sweet.
I don't think Flood is a good idea, though.

I would definitely like to see a level of customization in enemy or weapon spawns. for example, I personally have trouble dealing with drones, so the option to make an entire round nothing but drones to train with before going into the "official" firefight. This way you could also plan out waves in order to put friends through a perfect mix of enemy hell. Also, I would like a matchmaking function to assimilate the necessary four players from Xbox live.

-Flood for a more zombieish hoarde mode, I love zombies!
-More defence oriented maps.
-More variation in map size.
-Not drop pod respawns, but starting at least.

I would like to see those.

QUITTING DOES NOT END THE GAME FOR EVERYONE ELSE.

Individual lives pools.
Ranked and Social Matchmaking.
Forge for Custom Firefight.
Custom Firefight/Custom Firefight games list. Change things like lives amount, wave lengths, set lengths, weapon loadouts, enemy types, shields, health, vehicles, etc.

its going to be in reach. i know this because on the back of gamestop's reach pre order case, it says something along the lines of "and the new and improved firefight mode"

-Quitting will not end game for others.
-More than four allowable players.
-Players can join mid game.
-Optional skulls.
-No life pool, this would allow better players not to be caused to lose because of worse players.
-A K/D multiplayer, or a more noticable one.
-More varied gameplay.
-More switches.
-Less lag! =)

I agree that the biggest issue is the quitting thing. If one person quits or lags out it should not kill the game. Personally i'm happy with 4, and wouldn't want to see it go much above 5 if at all, it keeps it feeling like a squad. I could care less about MM for it but I see the benefit. Forge may be an interesting idea.

REACH!

Personally i would love if every 10 rounds a new huge ape like looking covenant drops from the sky in a random part of the map holding a massive plasma beam gun and it can throw bananas which are a one hit kill and the ape can rip up the ground and throw it and when it screams the whole team goes "blind" for 5 seconds and the ape has its own starcraft...or as some call them spaceships .....what u guys think??

Basically it's good the way it is, except it needs matchmaking, a save and quit, and it would be nice if they made a brand new skull instead if black eye, because black eye is really hard, especially with drones.


What would want the skull to be, but make it still against yourself, but whatever you think would be more fun.

The reason FF ends when someone quits is because of the Campaign engine, that's why it doesn't have MM just like Campaign. We are getting a new engine, so those things should be ammended for. Some obvious things for FF though that I'm happy about is playing as a Spartan, fighting Elites, and new maps. A big map with no vehicles would be cool. Like a forest type outpost.

Option to do a Covenant Firefight game or a Flood Firefight game.

Theater mode that lets you record clips in Firefight.

To add on to your idea, the game could be a larger version of Timberland with more trees. (a) Road(s) would be running through the forest that allows heavy infantry and vehicles to cross the forest to your base. Instead of Phantoms, the enemies would come out of the mist (there would mist at the edge of the level by the covie spawn) and down the road. You could plant mines or use the mongoose as a reconnaissance vehicle to scout up the road. The total length between the covie spawn and your base would be between 1/4-1/2 mile long.

There could be 4 (covie) roads that converge onto your base and in the surrounding forest would be power weapons in old military outposts. Sorry, I went a little off tangent.

Fine, Mongoose. I just dislike the wraiths in every outside level and silly ghosts. The experience just feels better, you look over the hill, there's four of you and twenty of them.

break mode(so if you need to quickly do something)

new enemies and weapons(per set for enemies as you know what your gonna fight always and it gets boring)
