I would like a small DLC mini campaign for Halo Reach, where you play as Spartan-III-'s. You'd have no shields, and a health system similar to ODST, but you can run faster and you're stronger, and you have a weak permanent camouflage
It wouldn't have to be one of the missions where all the Spartans die, as Alpha company had fought in nine successful battles before operation Prometheus.
Why would they be stronger?
Spartan III's were slower, weaker, had less shielding, and were overall worse than Spartan II's.
The ONLY advantages they had were:
1. Numbers
2. Camo (Only on the Mark II SPI suits.)
I was referring to ODSTs, actually, and the Mark I SPI suits had photo-reactive plating.
And why do people here consider Spartan -III-'s failures? They were better than ODST's in all ways. In contrast to popular belief, Alpha company successfully won 9 battles before operation prometheus, their mission are more dangerous and suicidal than even the Spartan -II-'s. The Spartan III's deserve some acknowledgement.
Alright, as far as a game goes, Reach is the last forseeable Halo game by Bungie. Ever. That doesn't mean it's the last, as the IP stays with Microsoft, or even the last by Bungie, but there are no plans.
That said, SIIIs were made with newer tech, and were at the very least nearly as good as a fully equiped SII. Ideally, Reach will allow, in the main campaign, many varied playable Spartans with different abilities; so if these different styles pass on to multiplayer, Spartan IIIs, Brutes, and Elites, will have no reason to be left out.
