To start off with, were the ODST at the time of reach, if not then leave this tread to collect dust but if there were, in the MP, if any player gets a 15 kill streak an ODST drops into your team and fights for your team, the ODST's AI on easy so it isnt too good then if you get a 20 kill streak then a normal difficulty ODST AI id dropped in ect.

Or similarly vehicles can be dropped in by pelican or phantom for kill streaks, ghosts for the covenant and make a new vehicle for the UNSC that only one person can drive and shoot.

What do you think?, if you like the idea tell me why, if you dont like it explain whats wrong with it, if you like it but have other ideas you can guess what you need to do :) (I have not voted to make the results more fair)

if you incorporate AI in the game, then you'd have to change the network type.

you did notice lag appears differently in FF than in H3's matchmaking, right? it's because everybody have to synchronize to the host even more, because of the AI. it means a lot more infos travel.
honestly I wouldn't want that to happen, sniping would become really REALLY hard.

Great idea Ant but also it would be cool on certain killstreaks that you could call in macblasts using an overview of the map like for an airstrike on cod

Well said, this is one of the reasons that Halo games have never included bots in MM. More info, more lag, no matter how good anyone says their connection is.

i see then why it hasnt been done before except for firefight on halo, i now see that it wont happen but i do like the idea of it.

Also its not the same but on Halo Wars you can have up to 300 units if 6 people are covenant, yes it lags but that is 300 AI surly 1 or 2 at a time wont cause much lag

I havnt lagged ONCE in firefight...Its much better than Halo 3 MM.

Same, the only reason if i was to lag in firefight it would of been because of a teammates connection

The nature of an RTS is wholly different than that of an FPS, and the AI players follow suit. An RTS by design follows a very simple set of rules that are typically governed by action and reaction, and limited by rules of balance. The Wars AI, even on Legendary, is very easy to trap when you understand this simple rule.

FPS AI is (in most games) a different story, larger scale, more to interact with, and more actions to be taken. Not to mention the larger models require more information, which is where the scale comes into play in terms of lag.

Lag because Firefight had lag like campaign for H3 this is because the host must send the other people information that includes enemy AI rather than just sending usual movement and shooting info in matchmaking. So although it would be cool it would lag too much!

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

Until Bungie improves their AI, I don't want any NPCs in my matches.
