Currently I have a Radeon 9200 SE 128mb PCI. It runs fine on Multiplayer, but I really gotta turn down the settings in single player. Still, the single player lags and does not look good.

I plan on buying the Radeon 9600XT 128mb AGP. For anyone who does have this card...can you play the single player really well with everything enabled (Specular, Shadows, Decals, Particles, etc.)? So far I've heard nothing but good things about this card.

I think it runs fine with everything on, on every level except inside T&R, and in Keyes, because of the specular, you'll have to turn this off, but only on those levels.
I'm gonna upgrade from my GeForce 2 to a Radeon 9800XT. So I don't have first hand experience, but my dad's GeForce 4 runs fine like if you turn Spec off on those levels I said.

Sorry to butt in on your question, but does the 9800XT (if anyone has it) rule all?

Only for a very short while it will.

In a few weeks, nVidia is releasing their brand new cards, the 6800 Ultra's (I think). For $400-$600, these things kick the crap out of a 9800 XT.

Anyone else know about the 9600 XT's?

I don't have the cash for a 6800 or a R420 core Radeon, so I have to settle for 9800XT. Also when is the R420 being released? I'm hoping for a price drop.

Hope that helps!

I have it and an AthlonXP +2500 and it runs Halo like a charm, everything on. Very little lag in the densest of levels at 1024x768.

I run at 800x600. Does 800x600 run better than 1024x768 or what? It seems alot of games are tested in 1024x768.

So, according to these charts and articles, I should be able to run Halo in nearly all its glory, right?

BTW, what do dynamic shadows do anyway?
